It is a great location (Hella) and the hotel main building is attractive and good. The reason I have 4 star is that the size of the rooms are very small. Even through I booked a family studio. It is very narrow inside like a room built on a container. Could have been larger rooms considering the price and location. Good restaurant.

We had a two-bedroom apartment which worked out well for our family (two parents and two teens). We were tired after an overnight flight and day of sightseeing so we enjoyed the hot tub and sauna and having dinner on-site so we could get to bed relatively early. Room darkening shades worked well. Easy to park and we were able to get to our first stop that day within a half hour. Very well located for touring from the Golden Circle to Vik area.

Good location to stay for what we wanted to do in the area. Booked a family suite with private hot tub for 4 people. It wasn't that clean so we ended up using the public hot tubs. There also weren't enough bath towels in our room for 4 people. Ended up using a hand towel to shower with. Ordered dinner at the restaurant and asked what the sides were that it was supposed to be served with. Meal was served with couscous instead with no forewarning - good thing I'm not celiac. Staff was nice, and breakfast buffet was pretty decent with great variety.

Due to some troubles with Expedia, I thought I was not able to stay at the Stracta hotel. However the manager Lilja went above and beyond to help my family out. Such wonderful staffs and magnificent stay. 5/5!

Excellent stay! The room was clean modern, with very comfortable beds. Breakfast was nothing fancy, but really good with good variety. Great choice for us - the family of 3. The location is just off the road, easy to find, convenient for 1 night stay while in the South

We had the 2 bedroom apartment with hot tub. These are right at the back of the hotel complex so quiet and private but only a short walk to the main hotel bar and restaurants. Hot tub was fab, especially in the snow, but no gate across the back of the yard so we parked our car over the gap. Apartment not as big as it looked in the photo but great for the kids to have their own room. Good evening buffet and lots of choice for breakfast. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Very pleased to get Fever Tree tonic with my gin which the barman went out back to fetch for me! Treated to the northern lights, very exciting as the whole hotel rushed outside to see them.

We spent one night in a corner apartment with family. Unfortunately, the road construction right in front of us made it impossible to relax and enjoy our morning (so no hot tub relaxation for us 😟)The breakfast was a caos, most tables were full of dirty dishes, the coffee machines were not working, but you could see the staff were doing the best they could. They definitely should have more people working the buffet breakfast. The apartment has a kitchen, but there was no soap. The positive, everything was clean, beds comfortable (note: we noticed that in most places twin beds in Iceland are very norrow) and the location is convenient to easily jump on the road.
