Great Starting point for our family tour of Iceland. Easy parking and 20 minute walk to downtown. Yummy afternoon cake with tea and plentiful healthy breakfast. Courteous front desk attendant provided best dinner recommendation. The room is basic and a bit worn with poorly insulated windows so we heard a lot of traffic noise, but good deal for hotel with room for family in Reykjavík.

This small hotel just on the outskirts of downtown is a great value in terms of price, breakfast, free wifi, free parking, and accommodations. Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay, especially because the friendly staff. Some Americans may be put off by the size and style, but, as frequent European travelers, we felt right at home. Rooms and bathrooms are on the small side, but typical in our trips. The breakfast had a good variety of food and good coffee. The evening cake and tea were fantastic. We were originally concerned about the sulfur smell in the water until we smelled it all over Reykjavik at other locations.

The hotel was perfect for us as a family. We liked the fact that it was very clean, the continental breakfast was fantastic with great choice and the complementary cake when we came home in the evening to have with a hot drink was a nice touch. The hotel was very quiet at night and the fact that we could adjust the heat in our room if we wanted to was good The staff were great and very helpful; we only had to ask if we needed anything. The parking area was very spacious and it was never a problem to park. Would definitely come back here again if we came to Reykjavik.

We had a lovely stay at the Orkin Hotel on the first and last night of our Icelanding family road trip. The quadruple room was super comfortable and the kids loved having a separate “floor” for themselves. Breakfast was tasty and generous, and daily free cake and coffee/tea at 5pm was an unexpected bonus. We also made use of the game room where we could all enjoy ping pong, darts and foosball, and even piano. The reception staff were super friendly and helpful. Walking distance to the center of Reykjavik. Highly recommend you book your stay there, especially if you’re traveling on a budget.

We stayed thete 3 nights and had no issues. We had 2 adults 2 kids and our room had an upstairs loft for the kids. Will book with them again.
