Overall - you pay for what you get but I feel it is value for money. If you pay double or triple you get to stay on Denarau but at the same time, you get no character there. This place has everything that you need without the bells and whistles. Room - average. Beddings are a bit worn out but clean. We stayed in a beachfront room and it was really spacious. Aircon made a bit of noise but worked well. Service - great - what you need to realise about most of Fiji is that people are super laid back. They are happy to help but they are not constantly bugging you to buy things, see if you need anything or going out of their way. However, if you ask them for something or to do anything, they will happily comply. They checked most days if they wanted our room serviced and if they didn’t, if I just asked, it was done. I personally don’t like changing sheets and towels everyday because I don’t do this at home and so bad for the environment. Food - limited menu however, you can go to the main island anytime. They pick and drop you as many times as you need. The main land has many more options but note that Fiji itself has limited choices. visit The Boat Shed and Nan Yang. Generally the food at the resort was yum. Activities - kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling and water slides were free with stay. jet skiing was not worth it as they have really regulated the speed due to a previous incident. Pool was good but not for little kids as deep. Overall - definitely worth our money

Small resort and ideal if you are wanting a quiet / peaceful getaway with some basic activities at the resort. Not fancy/high end, but clean, well maintained, friendly staff, and general needs covered. Was ideal for our family of 5 (2 adults x3 children ages 16, 13, 10). Our kids had a fantastic time with the water activities and 'one on one' support from the lifeguards. Boat transfer to and from Lautoka easy and fantastic 24/7. We loved our stay.

We were warmly welcomed after a long journey and found out we had a free room upgrade to a sea view family bure (travelling as a couple) and the bure was stunning. The staff were all really friendly and we would love to give a shout out to Joey, who is an absolute diamond and made us feel really at home. There are LOTS of activities at the resort which we would highly recommend you do, any activities that don’t involve a motor (snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing) are included in your room, and the motor ones are very reasonably priced (15 minute jet ski FJD75). The only real downside of the resort which we were struck with was the food. Breakfast was good but basic, food was reasonably priced and cooked ok, but the choice available was main thing. The All Day menu was all quite standard, simple food and didn’t change. The Dinner specials menu (which supplements the all day menu) also stayed the same for the duration of our stay and was pretty uninspiring. As foodies, we had exhausted the decent menu options by about three days in. Overall, we loved our stay at the Belo Vula resort, and would recommend it especially for families. Just be wary of food choice and bring a lot of insect spray!

If you're looking for a quiet place away from the tourist spots, Belo Vula Resort (BVR) is the place for you. Located on a private island outside of Lautoka, BVR is remote enough to escape "mainland" life, either for a quick day-trip or a week-long vacation, without being too far removed from shopping and dining. To get to the facilities, you take a ferry from the mainland to Bekana Island. Once on the island, you'll notice the open dining hall and bar. Drink and dinner specials offer a variety of new tastes to expand your palate. I found the prices to be very reasonable and did I mention the chefs were amazing? It's easy to see why locals sometimes come to the island to unwind and eat well. To the right of this building, you'll find the bures (kind of like villas) for guests. The "Beach Front Bures" can accommodate families (a double/queen bed and two twin beds) who want to be close to the quieter beach. To the left of the main building are bures for day-trippers and the Activities Center where you can select some popular activities like snorkeling and kayaking. There is also an outdoor gym with light weights should you feel like working out on vacation. But the absolute best part of staying at BVR is the people. The staff were super friendly and there whenever we needed them. By the time my trip ended, I felt like my family grew. The farewell performance by the staff moved me to tears, happy and sad all at once. Can't wait to go back!

Very disappointed with Belo Vula Resort, so much so we left after 2 nights of a 7 night stay (without a refund). Food - breakfast was terrible and other meals were basically a choice between pizza or chicken. Not suitable for vegetarians at all (or anyone that likes good food). No fresh seafood options, snacks or desserts. Accommodation - very basic but OK. Island - could be great but was really dirty with rubbish everywhere on the beach and in the water. Seems the resort are more keen to get day trippers onto the island than looking after people staying in the accommodation. Limited activities for kids and the pool was full of day trippers. Staff - friendly & pleasant. Overall it was an expensive let down - this place could be amazing but there is a real lack of care and focus on important things. Would not recommend and will not return.

Belo Vula is an outstanding resort, and has isolated island feels with world class service. If you're looking for an affordable but superb island escape with the beach at your feet, service to anywhere you want then look no further. Joeli and the team are seriously awesome and will go above and beyond and will make you feel like family! I will defintiely be back again :)

It is a wonderful boutique resort if you are looking for a quiet holiday. It is not too commercialized and yet just couple minutes boat ride away from Lautoka city where you could find great Chinese restaurants. This resort is locally owned and only have about 10 bures. So people knows each other very quickly and kids made friends easily. We stayed at beachfront bure that is very spacious. Shower is pretty good. We sit under the porch watch the sunset while children play together on the beach. A true credit to the owner. It is definitely a holiday experience that will be remembered.

I was under the impression that I would be able to walk out my door and jump in the ocean, unfortunately that was not the case as the beaches were lined with trash consistently, so we just sat on our porch and watch the garbage float on by. I do not blame this "resort" for being in the direct path of a "trash current" but with this being our first time in Fiji, I wish this would have been in other reviews. I have a few other complaints like the food, the cocktails (they put olives in the pina colada), the burning of trash on the island, the pool being closed the entire time with no heads up, for example, but the condition of the beach makes me not want to return. We tried looking at other hotels after night one but everything was booked or extremely expensive. I hate posting this review about a small, family owned hotel but if swimming in the ocean or sitting on a lovely, clean beach is what you are looking for, this is not the place for you.
