Scandic Kødbyen

After flying into Copenhagen, we arrived late at the hotel around 11pm and discovered the hotel had cancelled our reservation. We reserved a family room using Expedia with all of us in one room. Unfortunately, the hotel’s reservation system showed our room was cancelled but on Expedia we still had the room reservation. It took a while before we were finally checked in but the hotel room only had separate rooms and no longer had the family rooms available. Throughout our stay, our rooms keys stopped working at times and we had to visit the front desk several times to clarify our situation. During check out, we were charged additional fee for “NO SHOW”? Apparently, the hotel assumed my reservation was a no show and they even determined we stayed in a room that was not even registered. This is definitely a debacle to the start of our journey here in Copenhagen.

A really modern hotel with great facilities overall. Check in was easy and staff are very pleasant. Hotel is in a good location for getting to the nearest metro or to walk into the centre. Breakfast was good and well managed as they ask you to make a booking each day for the following day. Gym is decent and open 24 hours. Table tennis and games area is handy for the kids too. Only negative is the bar- would be good to see some drinks offers / happy hours as otherwise drinks are very expensive. Overall- we had a fab experience and would visit again.

The room and hotel were clean, and the room was adequate. The main bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choice but was a bit chaotic as it was really busy and crowded. First day we went down was a bit stressful, but we worked out to sit away from the buffet to get a bit of breathing space and where to get which food/drink. Location was close to Metro and city centre. I would suggest the location was more for grown ups than families. The area has plenty of bars and restaurants but was noisy at night especially during the Saturday night with drunks/partygoers/loud music. There is also some sort of drug-users facility round the corner from the hotel so not particularly suitable for children to see.

We enjoyed our stay here, it was a much larger hotel than we realised. Very professional and helpful staff. Breakfast got very busy around 8.30 so we booked an earlier slot. Loads of choice at breakfast and the hotel is focused on being eco so no little packs of anything which we thought was good. Only thing we didn’t like was the window in our room was tiny even though the curtain was the full length of the wall, weird and made the room dark so we had to had a light on - no very eco! There was also loads of kids - hotel was doing a kids free deal

Great location, great breakfast, front desk was very helpful, room great but for some cleanliness ( lamps dusty, old water in water boiler), but overall we had a great stay here with our family. 10 min walk to metro station and 20 min taxi ride to airport (at 5am). 15-20 min walk to Tivoli.
