Bella Vista Lodge, Monteverde Costa Rica

We believe it’s family owned. Very friendly and helpful if you need anything. The area is a little secluded which is nice and quiet. Step out of your room and a great view is waiting for you. I was told during the dry season, the sunset will be right in front of you. Place is comfortable. No AC, then again, just open your windows to let the air in. You’re on top of a mountain anyway. Not sure if it’s the rainy season, but there were bugs outside. Turn off your lights so they don’t come to your door. Breakfast was delivered to our rooms in the morning. Overall, would stay again if ever. It’s also a 5minute or less drive to the town.

This was a really nice place just past downtown Santa Elena. There is a beautiful view from here (hence the name Bella Vista). The rooms are small but very comfortable. They have really good mattresses on the beds making for a good nights sleep. The bathrooms are large and clean, with good hot water. The WiFi in the rooms is very stable and very fast! What really makes this place is the service. This is a family run business with the mother making the breakfast which is brought to your room. The son, Jose, runs the front office and is very friendly and helpful. He helped to arrange tours for us and gave great recommendations for restaurants and helped sort us out when we needed some medical assistance, re-booking the tours etc... We would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others.
