DoubleTree by Hilton Cariari - San Jose Costa Rica

This was my kind of place. Visually very inviting and cozy. Lots of rustic wood and stone construction. Rooms were very quiet - if there was someone staying in the rooms on either side of me, I never heard them. The food and was good and the service was excellent. Would love to return to this hotel with my family for a vacation stay.

This hotel was amazing! The staff as so helpful and welcoming. They made you feel like family. Will definitely be back!

Wow! The double tree exceeded my expectations. I read the reviews before I came but was still a bit skeptical it would just feel like a hotel rather than a resort which I originally was hoping to book but most resorts were full for the large group that we had. The pool is amazing! The pool bar was awesome with fun music playing in the background. The kids loved the pool and were in it all day long. The only thing I would recommend would be to add some more lounge chairs. The breakfast included was delicious and offered a variety of options. Come to my surprise an added bonus of a casino. I read there was a small casino but I just assumed it was a few slots and that’s it but they had actual black jack tables etc. staff was friendly and helpful! Excellent hotel!!

That is very good place our family to stay in Costa Rica. We like their breakfast and people very friendly. Around the hotel, there are very cool restaurants and shopping center. Our family are very happy to our vacation.

Staff was very nice but very difficult to get service. We often waited for 45 minutes or longer for service. The tile in our bathroom was broken and in obvious need of repair. The water temperature was difficult to control going from hot to cold quickly. I really overall liked the property but it was not enjoyable to use the pool bar. It was well stocked but never had a bartender. Our kids wanted to play pool but the table was frequently converted to a buffet table so amenities were a bit scarce to enjoy. It made it a better decision to leave the property instead of taking a relaxing day in the pool and restaurant area. I would recommend the hotel to sleep as it is comfortable, but recommend finding activities off site if looking for a leisurely day during your vacation.

The service at the bar was awful. We ate dinner in the bar and had horrible service. Incredibly slow and with zero friendliness. We were nice and expected to be treated the same way. Then we were kept awake all night because some kid soccer players across the hall were knocking on doors all night. The bellhop was helpful and the front desk was nice.

The entire Doubletree staff treats you like family!

Excellent stay after a long travel day. We had time to relax and reset before the second lag of our journey. Service was great. Staff were helpful and attentive. The grounds were beautiful and well cared for. The pool and some of the room features were a bit dated, but our kids loved the pool and it kept them busy for hours. Grocery store a 1 minute walk away. Restaurant on site was quite good but expensive. We were able to take advantage of the VIP lounge (we have 3 kids so had to get a 2 BR suite which qualified us) which got us free breakfast and a happy hour. Both experiences were very good. Would absolutely love to come back here if visiting costa rica again.

It was a really nice hotel. Great for family.
