Location cannot be beat. Close to so much good food, beach, shops, and supermarkets. Tamarindo is easy to walk around, even with kids. A block away is an area where you can get any kind of tour Tamarindo offers— catamaran, atv, horses, and more. The breakfasts were excellent. I loved the homemade jams. Our room was cute, rustic, and comfortable. Good air conditioning, thoughtful touches, nice pool. This is a great spot to stay in Tamarindo for a comfortable Costa Rican experience. We enjoyed that this b-n-b has only a few rooms, so it was quiet, yet we were not lacking in amenities and Agelie set us up with all we needed for supplies, info about the town, and arranged tours and shuttles.

What a great experience, very friendly and helpful staff. Close walk into town. Marisol was fantastic-wonderful food and room was comfortable. Owners extremely concerned with security, good for all but strict if you are a solo traveller and meet friends you care to spend time back at Villa Nautilus. Overall, would highly recommend for families and couples. If solo and make friends easily, I’d talk directly with owners first 🙏

We had just driven hours with two small children to stay here. We had booked the room 2 months in advance with hotels.com but later found out that they were having a system error where the booking only said 2 adults and dropped the two children. Anyway, it was raining and we were standing in the rain with our kids and the owner made us stand there while she asked us where we were from. I dont think she liked the fact that we were Costa Rican. She wanted us to pay 30 dollars per person per night, even for a baby of 11 months. The bill ended up being more than it would have been at the nicest beachfront hotel in Tamarindo, so we canceled. She seemed money hungry. We went elsewhere which ended up being much better anyway, but of course only after she made us pay for one night for cancelation.

We stayed 10 amazing nights at Villa Nautilus in April 2016. It is tucked away on a quiet street just behind the hustle and bustle of the main streets of Tamarindo. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The owners showed us maps of the area and gave a plethora of dining and activity suggestions. They were always around when we needed yet weren't intrusive in any way, we felt like we were staying with family. Would recommend over and over!
