Hotel Mountain Paradise

Gorgeous property with amazing views of Arenal Volcano. The rooms and bathrooms were very spacious and clean, also air conditioned. The pool area was lovely, and the restaurant had a nice breakfast buffet. I'll recommend this resort to friends and family, including families with kids.

Cute, rustic feel with nature all around which I liked. Great view from room of volcano. Worked for sleeping and in between excursions done outside of property. Only one restaurant that was just ok so definitely needed to go off property for eating. Pool area fine but temp too cool and hot tub not hot. Not very inviting to sit around pool and lounge. Not many pool chairs with large gravel area that was a waste of space. Definitely not a resort but just a nice, quiet place to sleep. Lots of baby ants in room but normal for this type of place and expected. Did love outside bathtub that got hot! Waterfall shower unique but took up alot of space and not much water. More counter space would have been good.

We had a wonderful time at La Fortuna Mountain Paradise with our three kids for three nights. The place was clean and nice, and we stayed in one of the bigger villas with a pool out front. The free breakfast was awesome, especially with the kids, and had everything we needed to start the day. The place was well taken care of, and our kids loved the pool. It's in a great location not far from downtown, and it felt safe with easy parking. The staff was really nice and helpful. The only thing we'd suggest is eating dinner elsewhere in town, as the options there were better. But overall, we'd definitely recommend staying there.

I am so glad we booked this place and not one of the others (we visited some of the others as friends stayed there) The entire area is stunningly beautiful. It’s so private and serene. Our room had a private heated pool with the most perfect view of the volcano. The restaurant was delicious and so affordable that our group of four literally ordered one of everything to try family style. We book massages everywhere we go, but their spa was the best massage of both my and my husbands life. I would go back just for the massage. It wasn’t even one of the fancy ones, just the “relax 60 min” massage. Anytime we wanted the golf cart to pick us up, they were there in a minute. Excellent staff, beautiful grounds, breath taking views, the rooms are stunning too. I wish I was more eloquent because I don’t think that words can capture how incredible this resort was. I usually like to try a different resort every time I travel, but this might be the first time where I will definitely book this resort again. 100/10 highly recommend

Very fun hotel! They gave us an upgrade to owner suite with private parking and private pool. Our kids had tons of fun and took advantage of the pool. The room had two bedrooms and the kitchenette. Facility is conveniently located close to all the action. We loved it there and the staff was simply fantastic! Also, lots of birds here so you don’t have to go far away to watch all the colorful birdies!!

This property was a great location for our family. The houses were the perfect size and just what we needed. Could use some updating as things are a little dated but overall a great option. Rooms were clean and staff friendly.

Well maintained property with beautiful gardens and many birds. Very friendly and helpful staff. Family-friendly and treated our children very well. They were very helpful in helping us to book some last-minute excursions. The one problem was that they had accidentally double-booked our villa for part of our stay, but they called to explain the error and then more than made up for it by upgrading us to the presidential villa with a heated private pool. Amazing.

We came to Mountain Paradise with high expectations , we were a bit disappointed. Our room was nice and the king/queen bed combo was great. The washroom was huge but the waterfall shower soaked the entire floor each time you used it and there was NO counter space around the sink. The patio was very nice. The big crack under the patio door let all the worms crawl in - not so nice. Towel animals were cute. The supper we paid a LOT for in the hotel restaurant was disgusting! Worse meal we had in Costa Rica (four meals and only was one close to edible) and we covered from Arenal all the way Panama! Breakfast was good much to our relief! Bizarre!! When we told the front desk about the meal he said, oh. maybe you could write your comment in the guest book!! Laundry charged us $56 USD to do 17 items-highway robbery! The heated pool was great, but no hot tub. We were told there were welcome drinks at the pool bar, but then found out they were a nasty fruit punch that tasted like tang, and that the bartended really resented serving free drinks. He was so grumpy and stone faced that we decided to just leave the drinks and avoid the bar. Not a great way to get people to drink,spend or TIP! Overall our visit was average. The guy who drove the gold cart was lovely and greeted our kids every time he say them. The front desk staff were ok. We would not choose this hotel again. The best part was our Baldi Hot Springs visit - now that is a nice hotel!

This is a beautiful hotel! The grounds are very lush and beautiful with a lot of birds flying around everywhere. The rooms are clean and very private with jacuzzis. Beautiful bathroom with waterfall shower. The breakfast was very good. The only complaint is that we didn't have internet in our room. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was because it said it had free wi-fi in the rooms. My husband needed to do some important work for his job on the internet and we needed to talk to our kids on Skype everyday to check on them. The staff seemed willing to try to do something about it but then another person on the staff told us that they always have have a problem with the internet in the rooms and they can't do anything about it. So they could at least be honest about it and say they don't have internet in the rooms. We also had small problems with the air conditioning remote. They had to change one because it didn't work, etc... But besides that everything was great!
