Family friendly resort which allowed our teenagers to spend time by themselves at the pool and meet other kids. The resort employees were very kind and attentive. The staff will pick you up in golf carts to bring you to the restaurant/pool area.

This property is nice and the location is beautiful.
Cons: Receptionist at front desk is not helpful neither friendly.
Young Kids are charged separately $29 per night per kid on top of the booking. Wasn't aware of that.

Lovely place, tranquil, nice rooms. Happy hour was great, only suggestion to the property is to include non-alcoholic drinks for kids in the happy hour special.

The staff and facilities at the Lost Iguana were incredible! The location was perfect, slightly remote, but still easy driving distance to all of Arenal’s destinations and activities. Amazing volcano views from every room. We were stunned at the incredible view of the volcano from our room. Staff makes its so easy and convenient to book excursions (including transportation if needed) so we were able to book some of our favorite adventures at the last minute. The breakfast was also incredible! You get treated like family here, everyone was so incredibly kind! We can’t wait to visit this beautiful country and stay at this wonderful resort again in the future!

The resort was very nice and set deep in the rainforest with terrific views of the Arenal volcano. The food was amazing. We didn’t have a bad dish the entire time we were there! The outdoor shower had a small screened in window and screened in roof to keep bugs and animals out which was neat! In the week we were there the water went out 2 days while we were there for the majority of one day and a couple hours of the other. It was very inconvenient, especially when traveling with small children who needed frequent diaper changes and left me with soiled hands. I wish the resort had offered bottled water to assist us or come up with some other plan. The resort was a great location for Sky Adventures (zip lining) and Mistico hanging bridges. We loved Costa Rica and all it had to offer!

We stayed at this hotel for our first night in Costa Rica because of a friend’s suggestion. It is definitely a nice hotel, with great amenities and service for tourists. The location of this hotel is the most appealing since you are walking distance to the mistico bridges, but a car is necessary for other attractions. Most of the guests we saw were either older adults or families with children, so I would consider the ambiance before booking.

Stunning view of the volcano. So much so, we enjoyed time on the very large deck to have evening drinks, play games and do yoga. We appreciated the warm pool with swim up bar so we could soak after so many activities in La Fortuna. The breakfast was good. Prices are very reasonable for the restaurant. The property is a little spread out so there is a bit of walking to and from your room. They have a golf cart option if mobility is an issue. The walls are pretty thin so we were woken in the am by the family with very young children next to us. Nothing the hotel can do about that but I'd bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. My only complaint was the lighting in the room is quite poor. Either all on (bright ceiling fan lights) or ineffective nightstand light. A corner lamp or something for a little more suitable evening light would be a nice touch.

Couple major issues:
Springs - there are meningitis warnings signs all over. Not sure how serious the presence is there, but why is it open if there's a threat?
Toilet/facilities - there's major neglect here. Flush your toilet and water splashes onto the floor, toilet seat, etc... You get the picture.
There are iron railings that are rusting all over (watch out for your kids).
There was nothing available in the market but I would definitely stay elsewhere if I had a choice. Especially for the price.

It was so peaceful and beautiful! The staff was the best. If traveling with children, make sure to take snacks and drinks. Not much besides the restaurant/bar menu. Overall, it was awesome!
