Hotel Birks Montreal

Just stayed for one night on way back from Canada RV trip with the family. Hotel is beautifully presented. Great entrance and restaurant. Staff in reception and in restaurant were very friendly and efficient. There is a spa but no hot tub or pool which is not that surprising for an older city centre hotel but our kids would have liked. Shower in our room was one of the best I’ve experienced anywhere! Room was very comfortable and roomy. Great location also.

5 stars. I did not want to leave. I will be booking here again and would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

Staff was terrible. Checked in while it was raining, Hotel policy is max of 4 but it says in the fine print that I can pay for another person( which is my 4 year old) The Staff made a big deal about the capacity having my 4 year old in the room and insisted on getting an extra room for $900! Which is more than what I paid for, Also without the City view that I paid extra. My Husband ended up getting another cheaper hotel separated from us. Even after that, they kept snooping if he was sleeping in our room! We ended up cutting our stay short. No apologies from them. They still charged me for 1 day of valet. Worst customer service ( Matthieu) , the bell boy was nice and the valet parker but not those front desk people. It was a traumatizing stay having them separate a family while the weather was pretty bad.

Our stay was exceptional. We were treated so kindly during a situation which arose with my daughter’s baby during our stay, the hotel and staff truly went way above and beyond to support us. The hotel is gorgeous, super clean, friendly caring staff and a superb location close to shopping and dining options. We look forward to staying again

Overall, hotel was a fine experience. The check-in was not great and some of the front desk staff were quite rude and not accommodating. I had to change my toddler and there was no changing table in the public bathroom so they offered to give me a towel to change the baby in the lobby! There was also some nice check-in staff, so it was a bit of roulette. The room was comfortable and the shower very nice. We had a pretty view over the park. It was not worth all we paid, but it was fine experience.

Loved and hated our stay. The hotel is beautiful and very convenient to shopping, restaurants and sites. Downside was the staff. Housekeeping continued to come at 5pm…super inconvenient as this is usually around the time when families return from their day to get ready for dinner. As a result, our room wasn’t cleaned for 3 days. Requests to both the housekeeping staff and the front desk were ignored. Everyone responded. “Ok”, yet we went 3 days without housekeeping services. On our second to last day we were told by the front desk our room would be serviced in the next 15 minutes, came back 3 hours later and still hadn’t been cleaned. It’s frustrating when guests have to become angry over something simple and easy to remedy. Yet, the hotel offered nothing to makes amends. We will think twice before returning.

A beautiful fancy hotel that will impress you when you walk through the doors. The hotel is large and in a great walkable location to shops and restaurants. We had a great view of the square in front. Being in a downtown section there was no self park garage, just valet. With that being said I felt the valet charge was responsibly priced. The Valet staff was at the curb waiting for guests which was great and very efficient. We had no problems with this service. The rooms (we had two) was equally beautiful, well working AC, comfortable bed, amazing shower. I didn't love that there wasn't a lock on the bathroom door or the sliding door that exposes the shower to the bedroom. Probably not a big deal for a couple, but when you're staying there with children or someone else that may be an issue of privacy. Staff was very pleasant and welcoming. We did have a little over charge mistake ,but they corrected that promptly after it was brought to their attention, followed with an apology email. In Summary, I absolutely love this hotel and location. I highly recommend it and will stay there again in a heartbeat.

Overall we had a good stay in this hotel. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Our room, The bathroom is luxurious, my kids enjoyed the tub. The bed was comfortable but the sheets are not too great. The sofa bed is flimsy. only have water for complimentary, the rest you need to pay for it. I picked the garden view for extra charge, but really not that great of a view, its a fake garden, and i see most ac units instead. You can hear footsteps and noise outside at night. The cleanliness overall of the hotel is okay. Outside is a different story. Location is wonderful tho, close to almost everything. Thank you Hotel Birks!

Exceptional hotel with great rooms, good service and overall, a great feeling. The dining option is extremely limited as there is one restaurant with no flexibility. You are not permitted to sit in the restaurant for a drink even if the place is deserted. The menu is very restricted - though very nice - and the service is inflexible. For example, we arrived 50 minutes after the closing time of the restaurant (9pm) and they refused to serve us even a plate of French fries and referred us to room service which took 45 minutes to deliver a $40 sandwich. Ultimately, the hotel is great but the restaurant is a big limitation - especially for families.
