Staybridge Suites Oakville, an IHG Hotel

We stayed for 1 night since we had a wedding near by. The room was small but more than enough for what we needed. The bed was super comfortable, the rooms could use some upgrades but still completely fine definitely wouldn’t stop me from not staying there again. Breakfast was good. The pool was nice the kids enjoyed it. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was conveniently located near where we needed to be. The suite had two bedrooms one king size bed and two double beds which was a perfect size for our family of five. Also had a kitchenette with a large fridge which is excellent. Room was clean and comfortable enough however some cos: furniture is super old and couch sank down when sitting on it, all three tvs are too complicated to operate with the three different remotes and an antiquated tv system, the bathrooms were clean enough however the tubs are showing their age and the hardware is falling out of the walls plus the ceiling was leaking. Pros: The staff was super friendly and helpful, breakfast was ample and generous with great offerings and very decent coffee and the kids loved the fresh waffles. The pool was a great distraction for the kids perfect size and super clean, the gym was good, the laundry on site is a great help especially for us with kids. Overall a great stay and would stay there again but they knew to do some upkeep of the property and the furnishings.

Place is well located. We were unfortunate to have been there during the stay of a soccer team kids and their parents. Had to wait 55 mins for check in since guests keep coming and trying to find rooms with the operator who was in front of us. Hotel was not staffed for such a large crowd. Quite noisy with kids running around. Otherwise place was good. Decent sized room and breakfast. Well situated and close to the highway.

This property was a good fit for our family. We had the two bedroom suite, great for a family of four. The room was of good size with a well enough equipped kitchen. It was very quite, even with the proximity to the freeway. Breakfast was above par and the staff could not have been more helpful or nicer. The hotel was very close to the train station which made traveling into downtown Toronto a snap. But... The room was very run down. Carpet in the room and hallways was in poor condition, with may areas that it was pulling up. The sofa in the room looked like it was picked from the garbage. And there were areas of mold in the bathroom. This could be a great hotel with a remodel, or at least a refresh.

My family was quite disappointed with our stay in this hotel. We arrive at 2am from a 4-hour; very tired because of the heat and the long flight. We were looking forward for a comfortable and restful sleep. Quite disappointed because the air condition was not working. Instead, they gave us 2 noisy electric fans. We were tired to make a fuss about it. I complained to the front desk the next morning and the manager apologized and promised me to give a free one night booking in the future. Up to now, I haven’t heard anything yet.

We booked a 2 bedroom suite was we were traveling with our 3 kids. The room size was great but the bathroom in the primary room was basically unusable. The shower had been dripping and the tub had a very large rust spot and was actually corroded to the point of it being unsafe to use. I know the hotel is undergoing renovations so hopefully after those are complete the suites are safe

This place is very convenient for us as family. We have stayed twice now in the 2-bedroom suite, and the suites are spacious with 2 large bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as a living space and kitchenette. The kids love the pool. Our suite was fairly clean, though we did find a used marijuana cigarette under a bed. The overhead kitchen light was burnt out and the microwave only worked on the express 30-second setting. The other buttons didn't work. The biggest issue was the lack of housekeeping. We stayed over Christmas and were informed when we arrived that there would be no housekeeping services Dec 25 and 26. That turned out to also include the 24th. Also, breakfast was a bagged breakfast only on the 25th and 26th, which was not communicated with us. When we asked for a full clean of our suite on Dec 27 (having stayed there since the 22nd without any housekeeping) we were told we needed to ask for a full clean 24 hours in advance and so only a surface clean would be done. In our opinion, housekeeping is what makes a hotel a pleasant stay. We understand that staffing over Christmas can be a problem, but if that is the case we feel we should have been offered a discount for the nights it wasn't available, and better communication regarding the 24 hour notice for full clean would be important. There were several people with dogs staying at the hotel. While this is a plus for many people, our son has significant dog allergies, which did flare up while we were there.

Check in is at 3pm, we arrived just after 3:30pm and were told our room wasn’t ready she said she would call us when it was ready, we went for an early dinner, did not receive a phone call but went back to the hotel at 5pm and she said our room was now ready. Got into our room, there’s actual duct tape on the room darkening curtains. There was no regular coffee in the room just decaf. The carpet has stains on it. All in all the hotel is a bit run down and in need of upgrading and some refurbishing. Hotel offers some good amenities like, a pool, gym and theatre room (which my kids were super excited about) but, the DVD player in the theatre room is broken, I told the front desk clerk and she said she would call the maintenance man but he never showed up, while we waited for him we realized the theatre room itself is clearly not cleaned regularly (if at all) my child opened the one consul in the theatre seats and it had a very old half eaten bagel in it along with other garbage.

Best place to stay with family or friends.

When we arrived at the hotel, a rude lady at the helpdesk gave me a entry key for room 620 and to my surprise there was already a family which have checked in using my identity and my credit card. When my family and I went back to let the front desk about it, her response was that we were together because of our faith garments. She never asked their Ids nor ours and continued her racist remarks. When she found out that the two reservations were separated, she told us to go and look for another hotel because they were full booked but later offered us to take a uncleaned tiny room on second floor which had only one queen size bed for a family of four although we were charged for our initial room. When we complained about the room she blamed it on us for not properly checking.
