Capital Hotel

Had a awful night stay,up all night listening to the loud humming of a ice maker next room to ours.Phoned down to the front desk,but there was nothing they could do.As far as i'm concerned with the money the Capital Hotel bring in,they should be able to do some upgrading on there ice makers(They should all be replaced.So when ANYONE reads my review,REMEMBER,if your booking a room,close to the ice maker and im sure there's a loud one on every floor,your NOT GOING TO GET ANY SLEEP and you think the owners or managenent will care!! NO..It was our very first time staying at this hotel,my husband had a procedure done at Health Science and had to stay in St.Johns close to the hospital..Check out was at 11:00am,we checked out at 8:05am and had to drive over an hour to get home.I'm late putting in this review,i'v had more important thing on my mind beside a horrible stay at the Capital Hotel..Please if you read this,let your friends and family members know.I'm sure there are other hotel you can stay and will treat there customers better

According to the Capital, there was a high rate of break ins of vechiles in the area. So we could not keep our belongings in the vechile. In addition, there were many children in the hotel who were running around the halls and going up and down in the elevator, to the point where I believe that was the cause for the elevator to be break trapping someone in the elevator. There were children in the halls throwing things, and knocking on hotel doors. However, the hotel was clean and the staff was good to ask for towels.

Upon checking in , the carpets in our room were very smelly, I called front desk to let them know, the issue and my youngest child had asthma, she said someone would spray the room after we we out for a few hours, not sure if the did or not we still had issues with the smell after coming back 2 hrs later

It was fine, couldn’t get to sleep the first night their was kids talking loud and banging doors but the second night was ok

We booked the capital, for a weekend as my kids were taking part in a tournament in the city. We arrived a little early, so I called the hotel directly to see if we could check in. When I called the lady was very rude and told Me she did not have my reservation. She told me to come by to get it sorted ASAP. I went to the hotel, and after providing my confirmation email and reminder email, she said she did not have my reservation but had one room available, and she would Do me a “deal” and give it to Me for the same price as the room that was supposed to be reserved for me, only to find out it only had one bed and a pull out couch. My kids are in a competition, they can’t sleep on a pull out couch. Especially not for $189 a night. I called the hotel back to see if we did book the room if we could check in early and she abruptly told Me that check in time Was 4 pm, and nothing she could do about it. Hands down the worst experience I’ve received in my life.
