Matrix Hotel

I like the location of this property as is close to family I visit. It's a decent hotel at typically a good price point. Its in decent condition overall. What I don't love is the price of parking and the free breakfast went to $18 tax but I think that is common with the majority of hotels that had offered this perk. Also it is not part of any loyalty program so don't build any perks or recognition no matter how much you stay there. The junior and platinum suites space is nice.

Disappointing. We’ve stayed in quite a few hotels in the past few years, even successfully booked some through hotels.com. Never been so disappointed. VERY expensive (booked through hotels.com because family was already staying there but we couldn't get the same rate...) Breakfast not included. Parking $30/ day. We thought it would be a luxury boutique hotel… wrong! Double beds, not queens. We asked for a room next to family; our room was adjoining, but with someone else, not them! 16 floors and ONLY ONE WORKING ELEVATOR all weekend - ridiculous time waiting. Party noises through the bathroom vent (door wouldn’t close, see below). Front desk said they'd send someone up but no one ever came… probably had to wait too long for elevator. Had to turn on A/C fan for "white noise" to sleep. Very stubborn sliding bathroom door and it didn't even close properly. Slow toilet. No fan in bathroom. "Bathfitter" deep tub, dangerous to step in for shower. Exposed bed frames = bruised shins. Lots of chipped paint on walls. Obviously old hotel cheaply refinished. Only advantage was downtown location. Never again. There’s better places down the street.

A lovely little boutique hotel. Parking was extra (ours got comped as our room wasn't ready!) but there is a lounge, an attached restaurant, a fitness area and complimentary breakfast buffet. Lovely main floor and mezzanine area. Close to the ledge, great restaurants and transit. The room are starting to look a little tired and could use some refreshing, but lots of space. It would have been nice to have some place settings, cutlery and washing up supplies in the kitchen of our junior suite. Such a pleasant surprise to have daily housekeeping, again! It seems like forever since that has been offered!!

The hotel is pretty basic, a great space for a work weekend get away. Not really kid friendly but over all it was good for a 1 night stay!

Pros: Good location, walkable to downtown, public transportation and restaurants. Cons: Terrible customer service. Guest check in was terrible, the agent rushed us through, never once acknowledged Expedia member VIP status and messed up on the room charges. The staff need to be retrained on service excellence and what that means for the guest experience. This hotel should not be a VIP Expedia hotel if this is the way hotel management train their staff. I will never stay at this hotel again and will let my friends and family know how we were poorly treated.

I wasnt happy about noone acknowledged us qhen qe checked in. I waited 15 mins before anyone said hello . The jr suite was nice allthough no utensils, or any dishes in cupboards. Leaving on checkout was the worst ! It took us 45 mins to get on elevator down . I have2 luggage, a wagon i use for my child and other items we have on hand. Eventually my husband and child caught one down. I waited for an additional 15 mins then decided to take that wagon down the stairs to the lobby. My oferall stay wasnt very pleasant as this was our first stay for 2 nights.
