Sandman Signature Calgary Airport Hotel

•Booked for a quiet, kid-free staycation & to get some online work done. •Rooms on the signature side are nice, new and modern. •Pool was ok, not too cold. •Hot Tub was not working/Out of Order! Which is one of my biggest complaints & annoyances when booking a hotel, as my stays are always based on whether or not there is a hot!. Disappointing, for sure! •Woke up late, around 11:30 & yes, own fault, but I hadn’t been feeling well and also had a headache… I wanted to take Tylenol and get a warm shower before leaving, but front desk would not approve even a 15-20 MINUTE late checkout! Again, disappointed, as I had to just grab my things and go… I guess it is what it is, but you would think after explaining that you woke up unwell and just needed a small amount of time, some empathy would have been extended? Nope! lol

We arrived at the hotel about 15 minutes after booking online. Upon arrival we were told the hotel hadn’t received the booking from Expedia. We waited in the lobby for half an hour but still no luck. We decided to go for dinner as our 2 children we are travelling with were getting quite restless waiting.

It is a nice property it was tobad so many kids making the pool area completely unusable

None of the doors in our suite were functional - none of them stayed closed. The bathroom and bedroom door would just pop open, they didn’t latch. Which was annoying because we put our 2 year old to bed and had to keep the doors closed with random objects so that wasn’t woken up by the light and noise in adjacent rooms every time we needed to go to the washroom. The coffee in the room was the worst I’ve ever had. The pool was small - but a lot of adults bring their thermoses with their drinks in and occupy the space in the evening so it’s not very family appropriate if you have small kids that want to play. We had requested a blanket for our pull out bed and the hotel said they didn’t have any extra blankets. Otherwise a decent hotel. But pretty mediocre for the price.
