Really nice property, room was very nice and clean. My only complaint is that for as much as you pay for one night they wanted extra for WiFi?? Are you kidding me?? That’s ridiculous and is reason enough for me to avoid booking at another Marriott in the future.

We enjoyed the hotel and area, but on the website we viewed there were pictures of a pool. We stayed here with our kids cause there was a pool… the staff stated they took the pool out 3 years ago and haven’t removed the advertising?! Anyway other than that it was great! Very convenient location for a nhl game.

During my recent stay at Marriott, where the room rate hovered around $200 per night, I bumped into a quirky problem at checkout. There was an extra charge for WiFi use on my bill, which my partner had used, mistakenly thinking it was included with the room. When I questioned this charge, the hotel's 'generous' offer was to sign me up for their marketing program to drop the fee. I said no thanks. The staff's reaction was like “I didn’t set the rules.” This review serves as a lighthearted yet serious warning for guests: be vigilant for hidden charges like WiFi, which, shockingly, are not automatically included in the room rate in this day and age. And, here's a tip: maybe keep a watch on how often your kids use the toilet – at $200 a night, I wouldn't put it past Marriott to add that to your bill too, all in the spirit of 'going the extra mile to lighten your wallet during the Christmas time!'

Stay here every time we are in Calgary with the kids. Great location. The room was a little sparse but had more space for shopping bags. ;) Staff is always professional. Rooms are always clean. Food from the restaurant was excellent. Free entertainment on Stephen Ave. Works for us.

The pool was closed. I would like to have been made aware of this before arriving to hotel. We were traveling with our small children and a pool was promised. This made our stay difficult and unpleasant for our children.

Our family had been in town for spring break week, visiting family and skiing. Our flight was cancelled due to high winds and we had already returned our rental car & family lives too far away from YYC to pick us up. We are Marriott loyalists so I booked this hotel as we walked back through Customs. Perfect choice! Being stuck for 2 days until the next flight and we have 2 small children, we bought swimsuits from the Bay and swam in the very warm hotel pool. Had concierge level breakfasts both mornings, ate at Ruth's Chris for a dinner, and walked Stephen's Avenue & Devonian Gardens since the weather was good. The location of this hotel, the service, & the comfort of the beds were perfect for a family so ready to get home, but apparently needed a few more Calgary days. Shout out to the night auditor working the front desk at 2am when I could not relieve a migraine and was pacing the lobby. She was so kind & I appreciated her talking with me.
