Windsor California Copacabana

We booked a standard room and got a standard room--despite Expedia leading us to believe that we'd get an upgrade. And that's OK, but we were very disappointed that one of the rooms allotted to us (we had booked 2 rooms) had water seepage. Plus, despite our request--made one day earlier--that we get two rooms next to each other, we were given rooms on different floors. This is inexcusable because the hotel had ample time to give us two rooms next to each other: we didn't check in until 8 am the NEXT morning (our flight landed at 6 am and I didn't want to not be able to nap--in case we felt like it--after a long flight and jet lag), and I emailed them the previous morning. Then, after promising to have a new room ready for us in 30 minutes, it took them an hour to do so, while my wife and daughter were made to wait in the lobby. More than the delay, it was the lack of courtesy--for example, my wife had to proactively go to the desk and ask for updates about when the room would be ready, rather than the front-desk person providing it to her--that was more bothersome. In addition to these problems, one of the rooms (605) we have has a bathroom door that's stuck--it doesn't open or close easily. I haven't bothered to complain about this because I am sharing the room with a family member (so it's OK if the door isn't fully shut) and we are only now here for one more night anyway.

Nice quite family hotel with a bar on the top 15th floor. Magnificient view over Copacabana beach and a very tiny pool!

Wonderful property! Great Staff! We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. I went with my kids to celebrate my 40th birthday and I am happy I chose this place. They brought me a cake and sang happy birthday the morning of my birthday while I was in the dining room. So sweet! The staff really go above and beyond to accommodate you and they are super friendly. Just an overall great vibe. The amazing Copacabana beach is directly across the street so that’s a major plus. The rooftop terrace/pool area has breath taking views. Great experience! Definitely hope to come back! Obrigado!

Me and my family had a wonderful time in Rio de Janeiro, we loved everything about Rio, it’s beautiful the locals were so nice, our experience at this hotel was one of our best vacations ever, from the moment that we arrived til the moment we left. Starting with the hotel staff so kind and attentive, well organized and clean. Roof top swimming pool, bar, gym and sauna always readRafael,Anderson and Ederley they are so great,made us feel like home, you MUST visit the roof top, The breakfast restaurant staff, also so WONDERFUL the food it’s really good, it’s prepared every day fresh, we were served by Eloiza, Jonathan, Breno and Carlos they really loved what they do, we did not had the opportunity to meet the chef, the FOOD that he makes it’s really really good, my family and I are grateful to everyone that works at the Hotel, they made our trip very special! We are already planning to go back.

I do not under stand how this hotel is rated 4.5 star? This hotel I could not sleep at all. You can hear every door slam and people talking hallway. Construction starts at 730am. Banging noise, chain saw tool noise is your alarm clock. Next door child is screaming and running hallway. I complaint about it front staff. Not 1 person ask about noise level later ? This hotel is not sound proof at all!!!!!! Key card failed 5 times on me. One of the staff was rude and telling me do not put it against the phone cause it will demagnetize. Have to turn door knob mutiple times to open the door. What is this back in the 1970s? The view to my room was 10 yard run down apartment. I could not tell it was cloudy day or sunny at all. I ask for different room. The room was smaller then what I had. The swimming pool look like jacuzzi. This hotel was so bad, I stayed at 1 nite Arena hotel 3 blocks from my hotel. It was total modernize and sound proof hotel. People told me that Windsor hotel is every good and expensive hotel from locals.This was hotel was the worst stay I ever since I been traveling around the world. I would not recommend this hotel windsor California. Yes possible other windsor might be different? Also ac takes forever to stay cold and has old musty smell. Best part of this stay was doorman staff Walter very friendly man. I thought cleaning staff did wonderful job. Front staff especially men look like they hate life. Good luck if you get room #610 !

What started good except for sleeping on a broken mattress - ended horrible. Either the cleaner or bell boy stole an iphone I brought as a gift for a family member. The manager Carla lacks professionalism and I would say definitely lacks managing experience and customer service. Definitely wouldn’t recommend. Spending all the money for low quality service.
