Cambridge Beaches is a shadow of its former self. The property is still in its lovely location, but the hotel itself is missing the extra mile of impeccable service that it once used to have. Management and staff work 8-5. Gone are the days of the manager checking in at everyone's table at dinner in order to ask about the day's experience. (This was a service still evident at another hotel). Also gone are the welcome parties, and the family gatherings around the putting green. The rooms are still nicely decorated, but there is no longer any turn down at night, and there is a lack of oversight in the rooms in terms of ensuring its free of ants and cockroaches. As well, little things like ensuring the room has correct in-room dining information and making sure that the phone system works are also lacking. The room we stayed in this time was not sound-proofed with the adjoining room, which made being in our room uncomfortable at times. On the weekend, locals tend take over the once quiet Long Bay Beach with their boat flotillas and their song wars between groups of boats. This does not create a peaceful or relaxing atmosphere for a vacation. As well, locals overrun the property on the weekends when they wade ashore from their flotillas to dine. Again, there seems to be a lack of oversight or authority to keep this in check. The beach is run down with broken equipment, and staff are not proactive to do something about this. Finally, the food is ok, but not superb.

Staff incredibly courteous and thoughtful. Many meal options for vegetarians. So many scenic views and the privacy was exactly what I wanted for myself and young child.

I had such a hard time with housekeeping, foul smell coming out of the cabinet and I had to call so many times to get someone to come clean and still was never resolved, place was dusty, lamps didn’t work, always had to call several times to get anything done, the description made it seem like there’s a bunch of restaurants but there was only one restaurant open at a time, sometimes two, nothing else in the area so this was a huge problem. Didn’t have so many items on the menu and menu stayed the same the entire time. No ramp or elevator to the pool or the pool bar/restaurant so I would have to carry the stroller and kid every time up and down those flights of stairs. They only had 1-2 high chairs In the restaurant so We often couldn’t get one for our baby. The servers at the restaurant were very nice. They are very understaffed so you had to be patient. The water is beautiful and it was nice having water on both sides of the resort. Overall, very disappointed in the place especially for the 750 a night we paid for it. Did not feel like a luxury resort at all and I wish the resort offered some sort of compensation for all the times they messed up something with us to at least try to make up for it.

Only one “big” complaint. We chose this resort because it is kids free (no children under 13). Between the time we reserved our room and when we arrived the resort dropped their no kids policy - all kids are allowed. Nothing ruins a romantic vacation more then having the only pool (they only have one small outdoor pool) filled with screaming kids in diapers. Sadly we felt like we were forced to stay away from the pool and that entire beach area during our five night stay. Everything else was great, but don’t go if you’re looking for some alone time.

Beautiful surroundings, peaceful if not next to a family, limited food options between meals, definitely need a checklist for items in the room as, hair dryer, bathrobes or coffee. Overall nice but need attention to détails for this price.

We arrived too early in the Season - limited food choices at the resort, menu less than exciting and didn't change in the eight days we were there. Clearly, housekeeping was in training mode. Several nights we had no turn-down service or fresh towels in the evening. TV was bad... it was replaced on the third try, but still pretty bad - picture shifted. Great breakfast, bell staff, concierge, shuttle and front desk folks were very accommodating and helpful as well as being very friendly. Resort is very quiet. No children under 13 years old. Perhaps a little too quiet; no entertainment and far enough from everywhere else on the Island that it was expensive to go anywhere else. Beautiful spot, calm waters.
