Jacosmo Hotel & Spa

Great little hotel in the centre of Hanoi, convenient for visiting the city. Comfortable beds and absolutely wonderful staff. Shout out to Richard, Brian and Henry who worked tirelessly to make sure that our stay was great. They sorted loads of stuff out for us, booked airport taxis and a wonderful cruise in Ha Long bay for a lower price than we could have got elsewhere. Richards recommendations for places to visit and eat were spot on. We stayed in 2 different rooms, a double standard room before our cruise and a family room after. The family room was much nicer, I guess some rooms could do with updating but the great service, location and really good price made it faultless in our eyes.

We reserved through Expedia. Although summer power outages are common in VN, Hoan Kiếm district rarely looses power because many government offices are here. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Friendly and resourceful staff helped with luggage from car to room. They spoke English fluently and offered great recommendations (and not pushy at all). AC and elevator were fast. Their price for airport shuttle and tours are pretty competitive. Room service staff offered free extra water bottles for our family. They didn’t charge us when our kid broke their yogurt jar. They let us use their microwave for baby food. Nice place to stay if you’d like to explore the authentic Việt culture, food, busy neighborhood, lake, street vendors and night market on foot. Probably not a good fit for someone looking for a world class treatment. We can safely cross the street and walk around with toddlers.

Brian and Sophia made us feel like we were family. They looked after every little detail and helped us find the perfect tours, they welcomed us with bright smiles and made sure everything in the hotel and room was perfect. The breakfast is superb and starts the day off just right. Close to the sights, easy to maneuver around and definitely the right choice for location.

Room size is okay, and I am not sure if it's qualified to call as junior suite. Nice shower head, but awkward tub to walk in, easy to get slip if you are not careful. In the morning, I was waken up by the cooking smell two days in the row. I was staying in room 902 on the 9th floor, I guessed it was directly above the breakfast kitchen on the ground floor. Staffs were very attentative and tried to please guests.

Cleanliness is tip top but the n02 rooms are small compared to no1 and n03 rooms (n=floor as there are only 3 rooms on each floor. My family was given 2 n02 rooms on different floors. However, the staff goes beyond their duty to ensure that you are well taken care of with suggestions of eateries and shopping area or tourist activities in town. Our stay was only slightly marred by the housekeeping not refilling the shower gel in the canisters on the wall. I would have given them full 5 stars if not for the small rooms and the shower gel incident.
