Super 8 by Wyndham Portage

Easy check in. Love to stay here when I travel to see my kid.

Breakfast was good, my kids loved waffles and they had hard boiled eggs, toast, cereal, coffee, juice, milk, hot coco, yogurt, some sort of sweet bread, oatmeal, apples. Room was clean (cleaner than Mt Olympus), service was great(we asked for extra pillows and blankets and they delivered them to the room within 5 min). Some eating places close by, KFC and Walmart next door. Only 18 min drive from the downtown dells but well worth it since the parking was NOT full and we didn't hear kids running up and down the halls like at the bigger hotels right at the dells. Price was cheap if you ask me. No pool but WIFI was good. Fridge, micro, coffee maker and decent size TV.

We checked into our room around 5pm. When we attempted to bring our bags to our room we discovered there was not a elevator, even though our room was on the 2nd floor. This was a huge inconvenience for us, a family of 5 with small children. Then we get to our room and the pack and play that we requested was not in our room. When we asked for the pack and play we were informed that they do not have pack and plays or portal cribs and brought us a rollaway bed, for our 3 month old son. I knew their website said they had cribs/ pack and plays available so I pulled up the website and showed it to the employee on duty since there was no manager in duty. Th employee said he wasn't sure why they would advertise cribs/pack and plays because they do not have any (not that they were out for the night). Needless to say, we left the hotel because I was not putting my 3 month old on a rollaway bed or on the floor. The hotel also did not look very clean. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who needs an elevator or has a family with children.

My family stayed here for 3nights. I love that they have microwave, fridge and coffee maker. What I don’t like is that their flash was not working properly. The only option they gave us is to move us to a room at the second floor. I wish they serve hard boiled eggs daily as it is a good source of protein for travellers and tourists who are always on the go. Overall, it’s good enough for anyone who looks for a budget friendly accomodation.
