Hampton Inn & Suites Madison / Downtown

I hated Madison, I didn't find it kid friendly at all. Neither the Target or the Walgreens on the main road carry diapers. There wasn't a playground or splash pad close by and we stayed there to go to the farmers market only to find out that they were have an art festival instead which the kids weren't into (I have a one and three year old). I also thought the city was dirty - lots of litter and not very grid friendly so walking you have to be mindful where you're going. The hotel on the other hand was wonderful, spaces rooms, fantastic breakfast, clean nice space!

Perfect for families--safe, clean, great location!

Staff was really helpful, room was cleaned each day of our stay, and we really appreciated the extras for the kids (fresh cookies, free hot chocolate, coloring supplies, and "hide the hippo" game in the lobby).

This kid friendly hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the staff were all friendly, our room was very clean and they had a great continental breakfast. I liked the security of the hotel with a secured private parking garage attached to the hotel and no access to the elevators without a room key. The only disappointment was the pool was closed for cleaning so no swimming for my son.

Not much you can do about it with location essentially on campus. College kids are the cause.

Our family very much enjoyed this hotel. The entire staff, from the front desk to the maintenance crew, were incredibly patient and accommodating with our various requests and generally rambunctious kids. I especially want to thank Robin at the front desk who went out of her way to ship my laptop to me after I forgot it in our room. She was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to help even though it was 100% my fault for forgetting it. The leadership team at this hotel should consider themselves lucky to have an asset like Robin!

This was a great hotel for my family. We got a suite with pull out couch, microwave, and fridge. The room was clean, the pool was great, breakfast was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. I recommend it for families and we will stay here again when we return to Madison.

This Hampton is AMAZING! When we arrived, the front desk informed us that they were having a system outage. They allowed our kids to use the pool while we waited to be checked in and even comped our parking. Talk about great customer service! We were in town to see the Lion King at the Overture and the location is perfect! A quick 2 block walk brought us to many unique restaurants and a fun downtown area. The pool and hot tub are also top notch at this property and my kids enjoyed the floaties and balls that were available for use. The room was immaculate! We were so pleased with the breakfast options, location, pool, and location that we will DEFINITELY be back!

Hotel and room were clean. Jr suite Room was very comfortable. Staff was great! Hotel was very convenient to downtown. They were great with my two small dogs. I will definitely stay again. Only downfall…we stayed on nights when it was snowing and very cold. There was not any grass for my babies to potty. They have a pet friendly dog station with a garbage and bags which was nice but it’s all on rocks. Having two small dogs with little feet it was not a great option. Having to walk them down the street or across the street to grass in the weather and traffic was not ideal for the short morning and evening potties. If your out and about for a long walk not a big deal but those short in and out trips are not possible. We took the babies over the villas park which is just a short car ride and out if the traffic area. Otherwise highly recommended stay!
