The Moore Hotel

Property is very old but they have done an interesting job keeping it up. The area around the hotel is a bit sketchy at night if you are traveling alone or with a family. The lighting in one of our rooms was very dim. The decor in the hallways gave a vibe of either a haunted house or a brothel which made me laugh but gave concern to my wife and young children. The beds and rooms were very clean and super comfortable.

This is an old hotel and not old in the way it's historical. With that said the staff were wonderful and despite the age of the hotel it was very clean and the beds were comfortable. You are about two blocks from Pikes market. There is a good coffee shop that is adjoined to the hotel. Lots of restaurants and a short walk to the subway. You are in the heart of downtown and there are no drug laws. We have never seen so many homeless people just sleeping everywhere and openly doing drugs in the streets. It's so sad the city allows this. Lots of mentally ill walking around too, but not nearly as sad as all the young people killing themselves slowly with drugs. They are literally in clusters together everywhere. I would never have a child in this area and plan to never return myself. We felt safe in the hotel and at no point was any of the homeless inside the hotel.

Great central to everything. 15 min walk to Lumen field great breakfast place kiddie corner to hotel.

We stayed at The Moore Hotel before & after a cruise. We felt safe, great location to the Pier, Pike Place, and a few blocks to the Monorail for the Space Needle complex. The light rail was two blocks away for one family member that took a red eye home. Less than 30min from sea tac with an Uber. It is an old historic building. Lots of woodwork that is beautiful & adds character. One small elevator, but worked for our needs. No a/c but end of May/first of June it isn’t needed. Windows & fans provide fresh air. We rented suites before & regular queens after. The suites had claw foot tubs & kitchenettes. Queen room was basic, but clean, worked for our needs as we are not fussy. The coffee shop next door was great Sunday morning, but closed Monday. There are several other coffee shops in the area as well. It appears they are remodeling the restaurant & bar that is connected. That will be a great feature once that is open. Overall we enjoyed the short stays and would stay again.

I wouldn’t stay here in hot months. There is no A/C. You will have at least one fan in the room and you can open the windows. I slept like a baby with a cool breeze blowing in. It’s a very old hotel so don’t expect a lot, but it’s very comfortable.

Old boutique hotel. During check in, I was asked to list names in our party and each were asked to sign a waiver.???? This is the first time that our family was asked to do this. We were so tired from our long drive, we jut signed it to get over it. Hallways dimly lit, has drapes that make it look creepy! Elevator is small , too tight for all our luggage. The room was warm even with the fans they provided. They alerted us that the hotel has no AC, so we prepared for it. But 2 things that made me decide to book this hotel; the price and most importantly, the location!!!! It’s just a block away from the Pikes Place Market and other tourist attractions in Seattle. You get what you paid for! This served the purpose for a night stay to visit Seattle. But I would go somewhere else if you look for comfort and amenities in a hotel.

Had a one-night stay in transit through Seattle. Having read some of the reviews, I was a little wary - but the experience was fine. Speaking as a Brit, the hotel reminded me of many independent European hotels - physical door keys, simple furnishings, slightly quirky decor. BEDROOM: high ceiling kept it airy even without a/c - and the box fan certainly helped. The mattress was comfortable, and both the bed linen and towels were fresh, clean and of good quality. The bathroom had an old free-standing tub; a handle had been attached to aid getting in and out - but this would be a challenge for someone with impaired movement. The room was simply furnished and clean. My one negative comment about the room is that the window (and this was the fifth floor) could be fully opened; this would be a cause of concern around young children. LOCATION: easy walking access to Pike Place and downtown. I used public transport from Seatac (light rail to Westlake) and lake Union (C bus from 3rd Ave & Virginia) - straight forward. In common with much of the city centre, it is true that a fair number of homeless people are in the area; but the streets around the hotel are broad, well-lit and well-used thoroughfares, and so I didn’t feel threatened. DINNER at Assaggio Ristorante on 4th: I recommend. Moore coffee shop for b.fast. Finally, a shout-out for the hotel front desk staff who were friendly and helpful. I’d certainly stay there again.

What a horrible stay, the staff was rude not helpful at all it was a very hot day that day we opened the windows to cool the room down it was so noisy we couldn’t leave it open. We didn’t stay the night we packed up and had to drive home at 10:30 pm it was a 4 1/2 hour drive home. My daughter and grand kids where here for a visit and it ruined the chance to go see the Space Needl etc. it had a rating as 8.2 very good so we thought the rooms should be okay.If I was Expedia I would remove The Moore from your listing of a place to stay..

If you're looking for a hotel where everything is brand-new, this isn't it. If you're looking for clean, comfortable accommodations, close to downtown, at a good value, I think you will be very pleased. I also appreciated that they let us check in early since our room was ready, at no extra fee. They also have luggage storage. This enabled us to use our time well instead of babysitting our bags.

It is a nice little hotel. The staff was very friendly. It is an older hotel with no A/C. We stayed there in the later part of June and it was still comfortable. I would not recommend it for any one with joint or hip problems because of the shower. At the shower we had you had to step up about a 1 1/2 ft. to get in and out. the tricky part is getting out because you are all wet and can slip. If you are staying there for one night to catch a cruise, I would recommend it. If you are with a family with little kids and plan to stay there for several days, I would not. Not so much for the hotel as for the area one and two blocks away. It seems that the homeless are taking over, unfortunately.
