Hampton Inn Covington

The hotel was really nice. The staff was very helpful and kind. The facility was clean and very family clean environmental. The gym was clean and didnt smell. The pool area was clean and warm. Very nice hotel!

We were in Covington Va for a baseball tournament....this was really the only chain hotel in Covington. They were booked full at the time. The area lacked restaurants, but there was a place called Cucci's Pizza up the street that was really good. The lack of middle road hotels in the area allowed the Hampton to charge $200 a night, which was very pricey considering the location. Julie the clerk was very pleasant throughout our two night stay. Im not going to pick each item, but I observed the room was not as clean as i had thought it would be for a $200 a night Hampton Inn. The breakfast was the typical hot scrambled eggs, link sausage, potatos, bread, bagles, cereal, and waffles. Pool was great for kids...washer and dryer on site. It worked for our needs but should be more in the $129 to $139 range at most.

The hotel itself was pretty nice. My family was in town to celebrate my great aunts birthday and we hadn’t been together like that in many many years. While most of the staff was very kind, including the owner as we checked out, there was an uncomfortable experience with one of the night clerks. Due to her rudeness, it would give me pause before deciding to book there again. She went out of her way to make us uncomfortable and even told us the lobby closed at 10 pm. There was no signage anywhere that said that and the previous night other guests were hanging out in the lobby well after 11 when I arrived.
