Our stay at Refuge Inn was fabulous. The location is wonderful for accessing Assateague Island and food was easily reached on the main thoroughfare. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. We enjoyed the pool, the rooftop area, and we loved visiting the ponies on property. Our ONLY complaint was that the fitness room was only accessible on the hours of the office (8 am-10pm) as you need a physical key to enter. We are just early morning exercisers with consideration of having small children with us. We would gladly return to Refuge Inn for a future visit.

Refuge Inn was excellent in every way for our family's Chincoteague vacation. The hotel is both quaint and modern, with a pool area that is also a greenhouse with a hot tub. There are horses and ponies onsite, and the inn is about the closest place you can stay to Assateague. Highly recommend for service, value, and cleanliness.

Such a special place! This was our first stay at the Refuge Inn but will now be our go-to spot whenever we have a couple of nights to slip away to the beach. The hotel is immaculate, charming, and filled with warmth and care that the big chains simply cannot compete with. We loved the special soap they have made just for the hotel so much that we purchased some from the gift store. The room was a bit small for our family of 5 (including 3 teens) once they brought the toll-away bed in, but for a quick two night stay it worked just fine. Spent a bit of our last morning watching the ponies on site and fell in love with the young foals. We can hardly wait to come back.

We stayed here with our infant daughter in the off season and it was great! Loved the breakfast options and our room was so clean! Staff was courteous and kind.

Got to give my Daughters the same experience i got as a child an couldnt be happier with everything! Hotel was amazing and the staff were truly helpful at any time day or night! We will be returning for sure!

Quiet and lovely, with perfect access to everything my family and I love to do in Chincoteague… we had a problem with our sliding deck door, and the maintenance gentleman cut a part to secure it in less than 10 minutes. We’ll come back again and again!

This was a nice, quaint little place. They had on site ponies for my kids to see up close and personal and feed, and a well-heated indoor pool and hot tub. They bring breakfast to your room every day, included in price. The staff was very sweet and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

There was some sort of bug on the bed, looked like a grub larva type. Gross, smoke detector beeped the whole stay, The breakfast choices are the same daily. And wasn’t a fan about having to come to the front desk for permission for the gym and sauna. The nature was beautiful, horses are beautiful. People should be open. Minded. It was my birthday weekend and my diverse family was treated terribly. The restaurants. Didn’t want to serve us.
