Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Odessa, an IHG Hotel

It was the worst. Came back from a family dinner. Got off elevator at the 3rd floor to smell someone smoking pot. The closer we got to our room the worst it got. Told the person on duty at the front desk because she can't leave the desk to see itfor her self. So went back to room tried to go to bed. Seemed like the smell was coming through the walls. Then next room over had Tv on full blast all night long. Tried to call front desk to see if she could take care of the but the phone didn't work. So we checked out about 4am.

Really, I can't say enough. I am so very glad we didn't choose to save a couple of bucks and go with something in Odessa that we would have surely been disappointed in. Of course this hotel is new, so that does help but it went way beyond our expectations of a Holiday Inn Express. Our room was immaculate and comfortable. The pool areas was great and very clean. The hotel was packed with families in for a baseball tournament that had a Saturday rainout and the hotel was extremely accomodating with a crowd they surely couldn't have expected.Towels for the overflowing pool area were readily available from housekeeping (whereas most hotels would have gotten stingy about it). They chose to embrace the crowd they had letting everyone fill up the lounge to watch the flat screen and hang out by the pool with coolers late into the night and ordered extra breakfast food to accomodate the large groups. Kudos to the friendly management and staff, can't wait for a return trip to Odessa just so we can enjoy this hotel again! Never thought I'd be saying that!

Our three-year-old son found a pill in the floor of our hotel room on the last night of our stay. He had been playing in the floor when a toy rolled to the end of the bed and he happened to stumble upon the pill. It was a small green and white capsule that definitely didn’t come from us. He got excited thinking it was his candy he had on the night stand. Thank god I was standing next to him when this occurred so I could get it away from him. As someone who works in a pediatric ICU, I often see the deadly consequences that occurs when children accidentally stumble upon medications and ingest it. Finding this pill was in addition to the beer bottle caps that were also found in the floor nights prior. As a hotel that prides themselves in cleanliness I was a bit frustrated to find these things and went down to the front desk and handed the pill to the lady. I let her know what happened and she took the pill, apologized, and said she would get her manager to contact us. It has since been 2 weeks since our stay and this hotel, or possibly manager, has given us the run around. First, she was out of town. Next, she was already gone for the day. But today, my husband waited 10 minutes to speak to her when she finally got on the phone and told him she was on a phone call and would call back. But to no surprise, she still hasn’t returned a phone call. To not even have the decency to reach out and offer an apology appalls me. I just hope this never happens to anyway else.
