Comfort Suites - South Austin

Disappointing customer service. Stayed there for our daughter’s first baby’s birth, because we had stayed before and had great service and accommodations. Good service until I let them know my plans changed and was able to stay with my daughter. I requested to check out 2 days early and they said I could but would be charged because I prepaid (not sure what that has to do with it), and Hotels.com tried as well since I booked through them and they were denied. They told me I had booked the refundable room rate, but I guess that didn’t matter. I gave them a day’s notice as well and could have checked out after only 1 night rather than 2.

There was a iron but no ironing board. I had to manually lift up the stopper in the bathtub for the water to go down. Not enough shampoo, conditioner, lotion in the restroom, for a family of 4. Other hotels have started to nail in large bottles in the showers maybe that is something comfort suites should look into.

The service was excellent and the room was clean. The waffle iron at breakfast made waffles in the shape of Texas! The location was good for me as it was close to family and about 15-20 min from the airport.

Nicely refurbished hotel. I assume this, since it looks to have been in the area for a long time but many of the amenities in the rooms are new, such as a walk-in shower (not a tub) and two-button flush toilet. Very clean, mostly quiet. The hotel sits on the service road of a major Interstate highway, so the dull roar of traffic all night (with occasional sirens) was ever-present, but only really noticeable if there was no other sounds in the room (TV and such). The complimentary breakfast was about as expected: scrambled eggs and breakfast meat (sausage or bacon, depending on the day), small muffins, self-serve waffle maker, small selection of kids' cereals. Everything was attended to and kept fresh, and the dining area kept clean. The single elevator car was adequate, as there was no large crowd of people awaiting a ride to their floors. My only complaint was the ice making machine was out of service on my floor. The king bed was very comfortable, plenty of comfy pillows, and a big screen TV. The hotel even provided a FREE toothbrush when I went downstairs to the little market to buy one. The little things matter.

I booked two rooms. The room we’re assigned was very inconvenient! I should be refunded for this room. It has toilet that doesn’t flash. I have to take out the tank lid to fixed the string every time we used it. The sink drained very slow. And the most grossest and disgusting when my family was ready to sleep, she pulled out the bed and when she pull the sheets, there’s a dried blood on the sheets and the mattress😡😡! And odor from The mattress and sheets lingers to the room!!!😡. We’re disgusted and not say on the pulled out couch after that. Obviously the no one is regular the housekeeping. I went to the front desk and complained and said they don’t have availability room. I told them it’s was very grossed, disgusting and very disappointing. No guest should experience such things like this since I paid good amount for 2 rooms.

Lobby looked good. The public restroom on the Lobby was awful. There was no toilet paper, the paper towel dispenser was opened and the floor was dirty. Breakfast was very good, except for 1 day. They had a different attendant, and she was just sitting, looking at her phone. The area looked messy that day. The room was spacious. It looked like it had better days. The covers had stains, the shower curtain was ripped. Overall it was ok for the price i paid. I would not stay here for a family trip, but for a business trip it was ok. P. S. So other than the major safety concerns of the outside side exit continually being open and the hotel room sticking and not closing fully; There was a stack of trash and food left by a guest on the side of the hotel. There were actual roaches crawling around on the concrete outside because of this. The room was gorgeous and clean. Checkin was good however it was slow leaving multiple families standing around waiting. We would stay again however for safety reasons we would request to not be on the first floor. Breakfast was nice and the kids enjoyed making their own Texas waffle.
