Mountain Star Lodge

This was my second time staying here while visiting family in the area, and I absolutely love it. The staff is very friendly, the rooms/beds are very clean and comfortable, and I love the swimming pool just within steps of my room. This is a real hidden gem for those visiting Beecave or Spicewood, TX. Two thumbs way up.

During the stay, the toilet had problem and we informed the front desk, the response was “here you go with this plunger you can fix it” and handed is a plunger. After I tried to fix it and it did not work again I informed the office and I was told “our maintenance guy is not here and you should wait” meanwhile we could not stay in the room due to horrible smell. Finally the sent someone to fix it but they made a mess inside toilet and smell worse, couple hours later they sent cleaning crew to clean the toilet. Another note was their breakfast service, they offered one family size cheese and butter for all guests instead of individual package, very disorganized and disappointing service overall. Pictures in Hotels.com convinced me its a nice place but dont be fool, there is nothing similar to what you see online.

The pictures online are misleading in regards to the room quality. The furniture is very dated, sofa bed was so uncomfortable my children opted to sleep on the hard floor instead. The king bed sounded like the frame was breaking every time I just rolled over. The location is excellent, but room furniture is unacceptable.
