The Holland Hotel

The Holland Hotel is a historic hotel in Alpine. It is centrally located and has a unique lobby. However, the rooms are in desperate need of a remodel. We stayed in a junior room (king bed and sofa bed). The sofa bed was lopsided and old. We had extra pillows and blankets and made do but it was uncomfortable.

There was nothing to like. Elevator wasn’t working and they assumed my party would climb 38 steps with all of the luggage for 6 people. They had been told in advance that I needed help as I had double knee replacements. They knew about the issue for two days but did not let me know until time to check in. They put us At sister motel that had no restaurant. No bar, no arcade room for kids, no breakfAst, no towels in room, non working AC in one of our rooms, dirty toilet, dusty and smelly. The only plus was a po but lights didn’t work at night so kids could not swim. The receptionist took no responsibility for anything, manager no where to b found. Terrible. Awful, experience. Will never stay there again and advise no one else stay at Holland Hotel or Maverick Inn.

Our 3 night stay was okay. The elevator was out of service & with two dogs who have never experienced stairs before, it was a struggle. The room was “clean” but needed deep cleaning. The carpet had stains, the bathroom floor was not clean, the tub needed cleaning as well as the wall tile. The toilet had stains in the bowl from lack of cleaning. The room was quiet and it was nice to have a/c. The couch pullout bed had dirty sheets. I had an inflatable bed for my kid to sleep on, thank goodness. The fridge was tiny & the extra bed blankets smelled. The restaurant downstairs has great food. A little pricy, but great good.

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel has so much character. No breakfast, with kids that is an issue.
