Holiday Inn Express & Suites Smyrna, an IHG Hotel

Well, I stayed in a few holiday inn and they all have their good and bad. This hotel seem like it was renovated, the doors to my room almost had to be pry each time I went in or out, The paint was making the door stuck, I chose this hotel and cancel one I reserved because it didn’t have a pool, however this hotel advertised a pool and show pictures that had the pool in it and looked nice , however the pool during these 95/98 heat waves was condemned by the City due to the water system being out of order or no one available that knew how to maintain it, the water looked like lake water, I wood not bring my family there. The best part of this facility was the breakfast!! Well maintain, great variety of food items, clean , the gentleman maintaining the food was very professional, knowledgeable and took pride in his responsibilities. I give this gentleman the highest praise one can receive from the customers!!!

Perfect one night stay. The inside pool is the reason we chose this hotel. It was warm and my kids had a blast. Beds were comfy. We will stay again.

The front desk person was excellent - the wonderful lady even managed to convince me to join the IHG Hotel group! She deserves a raise and promotion, 4rl:) The room was very clean and comfy. I could confidently say best free breakfast I have ever had - and I travel a lot. My family had a blast - wish we could have stayed for one more night, but we were on transit.

Hotel was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Our room was right by a very busy and noisy interstate. At one point I thought my husband was watching NASCAR in TV Lol My only complaint is with the check in. We arrived a few minutes before 3:00 and were told that check in us 3:00 and our room isn’t ready. The clerk said the same thing to a woman with a toddler that entered a few minutes before 3:00. She didn’t ask our names or even check if our rooms were ready. I understand they have a check in time, but have stayed at many hotels before and have been allowed to check in a few minutes early. We went and sat on the couch to wait and then the clerk asked my name and checked us in a few minutes early after all.

The hotel was under major construction that we were unaware of. Also we chose this hotel based on the fact it had a hot tub and my kids wanted to use it. But upon arrival after specifically asking about the indoor pool and hot tub and was assured they were open we discovered this was false information. The very small poll was open but was absolutely disgusting. Dirty towels on the bottom of the pool as well as lots of hairbows floating around. The hot tub was completely empty of water and was full of garbage bags and cables. The hotel lied to expedia on the phone and told them it was operational. I have photos of the pathetic hot tub situation as well as the sign on the door saying it was closed. I left a message for the hotel manager to call me we shall see if they do.
