Rooms are way smaller than the pictures, and the bathroom is cramped. Don’t recommend for a family.

Check in staff was very nice, the lobby was very nice, so I had great hopes for our stay. Keep in mind with winding mountain roads it’s a good 25 min to get lunch/dinner. They do have a restaurant here, but due to being off season they only had burger or chili as lunch option. The room was very dated and tiny! On the website it boasted of recently redone rooms. Maybe we just didn’t get a new one? We killed about 8 spiders before bed.. the kids were scared to sleep thinking bugs would crawl on them at night. I’m sure it’s the season here and stopping bugs from getting in is hard. However we’ve stayed in the area a week now and this was our first hotel with issues. The bathroom is so tiny the door touches the toilet and there is barely room to turn around or get dressed. We would not stay here again

This was our first time to stay at Custer State park in any of their lodges. We loved it! The lodge was historical, picturesque and met our every needs. There is a nice restaurant on the property and wonderful patio areas to enjoy a drink, picnic or just for playing games. We traveled with our 6 an 8 year old grandkids who also loved the lodge. They earned their Junior Naturalist badges while staying there. The visitor center is just down the street one way and the education center down the street the other way. Both were fun to visit and offered programming for all ages. The wildlife loop in the park begins right around the corner from the lodge. There is SO much to do in the park as well as the surrounding area. Can't wait to return!
