The Graduate Providence is the former famous Biltmore Hotel. In 2019 new owners purchased and renovated the hotel. Fortunately, they kept the ornate and beautiful lobby, and added quirky, modern touches to the decor of the rooms. But staff and maintenance still need work. There was no soap at all in our room (like many hotels, dispensers are mounted on the shower wall, but the soap bottle was empty. It took 3 tries, over 6 hours, with a different front desk clerk each time, until we were able to get someone to deliver some little bars of soap. While getting into bed that night, I found out the carpet in front of the air conditioner was wet. The next morning we informed yet another front desk clerk about the wet carpet. Maintenance came up quickly, and worked on it while we were out. Considering the carpet was wet I expected an offer of a different room, but one wasn't offered. We wore our shoes and kept the AC on to dissipate the slightly mildew smell. The room itself (a junior suite) was a corner room and nice and spacious, Bathroom is tiny by modern standards, but the footprint is original to the old building design. Location is great in downtown Providence, and we felt safe walking around after dark. If you like staying in old historic hotels, this is the one. Management needs to focus a bit more though on ensuring a good guest experience.

I love staying at The Graduate - it is my favorite place to stay in Providence. Especially great for families because the rooms are more like suites - with a door on the bedroom - and the actual suites are not much more expensive than the room - with two doors - so it is a true suite with a nice living room (with pullout couch). It just helps to have this option for families and makes staying in a hotel with kids less stressful. That said.... it is a little bit outdated. Our hot water never got hot and one day it wasn't even what I'd call really warm. And, when we turned on the AC it blew hot air, and the walls are thin. So, the neighbors partying was pretty loud (although to be fair they quieted down after 11pm) So...it isn't perfect, but, its worth it to me for the convenience of the suite - and the charm of the decor.

The rooms are great! Nice size for a family of 4. Would definitely come back. Only issue was that check in was a challenge. Only one person was at front desk and was very slow and not cognizant of others waiting for her. Also, game room advertised charges $$$ for most of the games. This should be free to heavily discounted for guests. Coffee shop not open in afternoon.

Nice family college tour. Homeless fighting outside at public transit stop. But inside was lovely. Parking is a pain.

Some genius in management thought it was ok to book our room directly under the event hall dance floor while “The Firemen’s Ball” raged until past midnight! The THOOOM THOOM BASS literally shook the walls and furniture in our room- when we called to complain they told us there were no other rooms and it was our tough luck because quiet hours wouldn’t begin UNTIL 1 AM! Needless to say my family didn’t get any rest. It took several EXPRESSIVE conversations to finally get our room comped but that didn’t change the fact that we were ZOMBIES after an aggravating night. I suppose if you’re looking for a stylish place to crash in the wee hours of the morning after an alcohol-fueled night on the town, this is the place for you! But look elsewhere if your family needs a place to rest at a respectable hour!

The Graduate Biltmore in Providence anchors the downtown hospitality landscape. It's a fine and historical property with classic touches that convey classiness and a long legacy. It was at the top of my price range during a recent weekend getaway but I decided to splurge on top-notch accommodations. Overall, I had a pleasant time here. The hotel itself is elegant and well-maintained. The junior king suite was spacious and clean. I liked that there were plenty of towels. The heating and cooling situation was a little interesting. I was informed that it was the time of year when they switch from cold to hot to match the weather, and that there was an electrical unit in the room to help regulate the temperature. I had to turn it off to reach a comfortable ambience. The check-in/check-out desk process was a little slow. Not fully staffed, it seemed. There is a nice coffeeshop on the premises and a restaurant/bar/game room. The hotel seemingly has other amenities but I did not avail myself of them on this visit. Despite a couple minor things mentioned above, this was an absolutely wonderful stay and I'm glad to have chosen this hotel.

We stay here frequently and love the decor and friendly staff! Any issues are quickly resolved and the location could not be better! Love the rooms that have separate rooms when traveling with children. Great views of the city and close to everything.

Very nice old-time hotel with modern upgrades. From the lobby, take a moment to appreciate the grand staircase and architectural details of the 2nd and 3rd mezzanine levels. Convenient coffee and breakfast sandwiches in a cafe adjacent to the main lobby. We loved the junior suite with two king beds.
