We received horrible and subpar service in a few areas:
1 We arrived to the valet area and were addressed with a door opening, but no one took our bags from the trunk or offered a luggage cart. 2 We arrived to a clean room BUT had no ice bucket or refrigerator. We asked the front desk and they confirmed arrival of both, but one never arrived, even after a few hours. 3 On christmas eve, we requested room service, but returned to find a made up bed, neatly arranged our personal toiletries BUT they didnt replace clean glasses, bottled water at all, dirty bathroom floor, and no coffee kcups either.
We received excellent areas in the following areas: 1 Front desk service on Steelers Saturday morning (young lady providing business office help was a Godsend 2. Valet service on leaving christmas day.
I liked the location for seeing family in Pgh and especially the Steelers game, but I may consider another hotel if this email is not addressed seriously or not at all. I think this hotel has potential: beauty, location, name amd prestige, gym, spa, and bar HOWEVER there are other options. I would love to return if this feedback can somehow be used to improve the hotel service SO others do not have to experience this subpar quality.

Not at the same standards as expected for Fairmount hotels. It was more of a 3 star hotel.
Received towels that were shredded at the ends and although we booked for 4 people only had towels for 3 people. Toiletries were used from the last guest and not replenished for new guests.
The food was great at the restaurant Floor 2.
Surrounding areas of the hotel unsafe and dirty and unsafe.
My family and I were extremely disgusted.

The staff was wonderful. The valet service was wonderful. Housekeeping was fantastic. Rooms were clean and updated. The things I didn’t like, which is my fault for not researching more, was (1) no pool, (2) everything was suited around business travelers and not really “family friendly”…..again my bad. Hotel staff was very accommodating to my special needs child. There is a Starbucks in the lobby but no “general store” for drinks, etc. They do offer room service.
We usually only travel for summer vacations and stay at luxury resorts - entirely different set up. It was also winter and snowing at the time of our stay so even though other reviews raved about “location” there are limited activities in the snow lol.
Valet was great since we ventured out each day. If I were traveling for business it would be a great hotel.
I will say we felt safe at all times in the hotel. Lots of panhandlers in every directions outside of the hotel when walking around.
Again, staff was great.

We decided to stay at the Fairmont because of it's location to PNC park. It was an easy walk there for the Metallica concert.
Staff was great. We took advantage of their valet service for parking which was excellent.
Would definitely recommend this to friends and family!

Our family chose to celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Fairmont, instead of our usual hotel of The Renaissance. We get to Pittsburgh once or twice a year, and always walk by The Fairmont, and every time we mention we should try it out.
It is a 5 star hotel, with a GREAT location. But they are in serious decline. Our stay was an absolute nightmare.
We had the traditional suite, with city view. As soon as we arrived, everyone from valet to check in staff was beyond friendly and helpful. This review/warning is by NO MEANS directed towards them. They did everything they could have done. This is directed towards the management, and lack thereof.
The pictures you see are all from within minutes of us in our room. I’ve had plenty of staff miss the coffee maker, but that was the first thing. Used coffee in the maker. The water bottle they give you in the room had been opened and drank from and put back. Used utensils thrown behind the desk. And the worst, USED KLENEX left in the desk.
When I went down and talked to the front desk, they were very embarrassed, and offered to buy us dinner from their restaurant, and then said they would pay for parking. These things are not unusual the past couple of years, so we were satisfied.
THEN the nightmare continued. Friday the 30th, the hotel lost power. We were evacuated in the dark to a different hotel with a tiny room that was near nothing. Stay at the Renaissance!
