Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Portland-Jantzen Beach, an IHG Hotel

Our family had a wonderful stay. Definitely will go back if we return to Portland

We’ve stayed at this hotel twice now and it was so comfortable and quiet. We stayed in the same room both times. It is large enough to hold our family of 5. We had the suite with the extra room. So nice to spread out and have space from the kids. Price was great too! The staff is very kind and helpful. I would stay here again!

Had homeless camps right down the street saw several homeless people prowling the parking lot several times. The property is in a bad location near the airport which wasn't listed in the description. The front desk person said they are going to go through a renovation in the fall but there were several things in our room like a frayed carpet or stained chair. They booked someone up above us when we booked an expensive suite that probably had 5 kids and sounded like the apocalypse until midnight. Flights started at 5am and continued until midnight so I got very little sleep. They also put us right by a main door, ice machine, and the insulation is poor so we heard everything.

The property was clean and perfect for a place to stay during a lacrosse tournament nearby. Easy access to the freeway. Free breakfast was good for the kids and I. Pool was nice. Area surrounding the hotel was a little sketchy with homeless people.

Traveling with my family is always a bit stressful and we had lots of items in our SUV that we did not want to leave in our car due to traveling to downtown Portland. I went to the hotel an hour before you could check in to see if we could throw our stuff in a closet somewhere until it was time to check in. The nice lady that checked us in said no way, I have a room ready for you. You may check in now. To say that this woman destressed our trip is an understatement. I appreciate her can do attitude and understanding our safety concerns. Pool was great and room was clean. Only thing I would change is I was told I can't have my IHG points because I booked through a third party. I purposefully look for IHG hotels. Several other hotels were in better locations for our needs but I went with this hotel for the points.
