Residence Inn by Marriott Toledo Maumee

Most things were great. The only part that wasn’t was that the pool/hot tub and gym were all overtaken by kids the whole time. I know the hotel cannot control who uses what amenities when, but there was no monitoring of the situation. Most of the kids didn’t have parents around and they were loud and disruptive. They were at the pool until 11pm when it closed and came back at 6am when it opened. We tried both times to use the hot tub and it was full of kids both times. Also, the kids left a huge mess at night and it was not cleaned up the next morning. Cheetos all over the pool deck, moldy towels, etc so it was clear the hotel staff hadn’t cleaned in between. I suggested adult only hours at some point so couples or elderly people could use the amenities in peace.

The good: Common areas were modern, well kept, and clean. Fireplace and seating areas in the lobby were attractive. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The full breakfast was a nice addition to the usual amenities: decent protein options, hot foods were indeed warm and fresh, good variety of cold cereals and baked items were offered. Room was mostly reasonable, however, housekeeping did miss a few things that led me to give one less star than I otherwise would have overall. The not-so-nice: Found a used, dirty towel on the floor behind the bedroom door against the wall. Could see popcorn from a previous guest underneath the dresser. There were handprints all over the bed headboard...in positions rather suggestive of how they got there. Ick. Maintenance issue: the plumbing in the shower was rather "loose"...when you turned water on/off, the faucet and fixtures all moved about a half inch. Also, you could see marks on the floor of the tub showing there once used to be some kind of a non-skid mat on the bottom that was no longer there. It could have used one. The tub was small, has a very slick surface, and a rather aggressive slope on the bottom that made footing a bit tricky. This was a real challenge for my senior citizen mom who was traveling with me.

Everybody, and everything ( accept lack of phone ports to charge phone) was SUPERB! My family will only be using Residence Inn locations from now on.

Everyone & everything was fabulous! Had an issue with kids stomping continually the first night, some with a customer service lady, she went up to speak to them but it did no good but the problem was addressed. Would not hesitate staying there again.

Great check in process. Quick and easy to park and get to room. Josh and rest of staff were very accomadating with extra milk for the baby and blankets for the beds. Pool was clean and fresh towels. Hot tub was the only downside as bu bubbling was not working 100%. Absolutely would stay again.

The hotel staff is so helpful! We really love staying here! We travel frequently to toledo to visit our granddaughter. The hotel is perfect for our family!
