Springhill Suites by Marriott Winston-Salem Hanes Mall

Room was very nice. We unfortunately had a child running around above our room, constantly. Called the front desk and it seemed to take a long time to stop, if in fact it did, as we had to go out.

Great place to stay for our daughter's gymnastics event the next day. We had a suite with the mini couch area. Everything was great! Very comfortable beds. Nice front staff. We used the pool, which was a bit cold for the kids, though they had fun. The food for breakfast is the biggest reason I knocked a star off.

The front desk staff were unprofessional and had terrible attitudes (two separate women and shifts). I didn’t have any specific problems to address but every interaction with them was like I was imposing on their personal lives. One was annoyed with being asked a question while she was texting on her phone. The other one wouldn’t even acknowledge any guests while she sat there talking to her family visitor and they talked about their family drama. The room was clean and comfortable with a great layout. The lights were broken in the sitting area so it was very dark.

Clean, hospitable, and welcoming. Family with 3 children (ages 12-4), were accommodated well. Highly recommend.

Great Stay I would definitely stay again I was greeted with a big smile and kindness my request to be on the top floor not near the elevator was met……. The room was a good size plenty of room and most importantly it was clean….. the beds were very comfortable my family and I had a good nights rest the two nights we stayed very quiet and peaceful…… no running up and down the hallway or loud talking……. My family and I was very satisfied!!!

Overall, no real complaints. The hotel is a bit older and no usb port chargers in the outlets which would be rather convenient. If you face the rear of the building like I did, it is really quite beautiful. Wooded and peaceful. I think it could use an upgrade, as the carpet was stained in a couple of places. But it was clean and bug-free and that is really all i care about. I cannot comment on the breakfast as there was some type of soccer tournament in town for youth and the hotels was pretty full. Too many people in the breakfast area for me. But it smelled very tasty. Soccer kids thumped the floor above me but usually stopped by 10 pm. Sound levels overall were fine. Staff was kind and helpful. I declined housekeeping so nothing to share there. Oh, the snacks, etc. are now payable at a kiosk. Prices are less painful when you used to charge things to your room and it was all lumped together - lol. Bring your own snacks and drinks or take out a loan first 😄 3.50 for a snack or bottle of water. Did not use the pool or exercise room.

Nice staff. Good breakfast. Convenient to everything I needed for work. Checked in and looked as if the room hadn’t been vacuumed - crumbs on the couch and around the ottoman. Hair in the shower. Left my DND sign off the door hoping that would trigger the staff to clean/tidy the room but that didn’t happen. Was there 3 nights and the room was never re-cleaned. To be clear, I never notified the desk that there was an issue. Just thought they would come through and make the bed and notice everything else. The water machine in the fitness area was broken and there’s electricians tape all over the top end of the weight bench. Just not a good look in my opinion. In the grand scheme, I travel a lot and this is neither the worst nor best experience I’ve had. I require very little from a property when I travel without my family. As my corporate office is in Winston Salem, I make frequent trips there from VA. Chose this property for convenience to meetings. Would stay in the area again for the convenience but probably not this property again.

Convenient location to family, food and shopping

This was a modern hotel, unusual room set up but it worked well for our family. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful in meeting our needs. Our only issue was a toilet that squealed after it flushed in our room and the room next to us (when they flushed it squealed, too). I didn't make the staff aware of this as we were in a hurry to leave-many miles to travel. I would definitely stay here again.

Let me say the staff was friendly, but that is about the only thing good to say about our stay. We called first to see if the pool was open, well it was but the heater was broken so our kids walked to the hotel next door to swim. Next the fourth floor just started leaking through the roof in multiple places though the lights, only buckets were placed in the hall. Lastly the most worry some item was all the fire doors for the stairs were open. I closed them and within 10 mins they were open again. Two of these items feel like it was a pretty big safety hazard. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
