Homewood Suites Raleigh - Cary

The property needs to be renovated. The exterior of the hotel needs a good power washing and the pool needs to be cleaned and covered. The top part of the bridge is damaged. In general it looks like it is falling into disrepair. The speed bumps need to be painted because you can't really see them. The hotel furniture and beds are also old. Not the most comfortable to sit or sleep on. However, the staff were all really friendly and they all seemed close. Almost like family. So it was a warm environment. It had everything we needed and we would consider staying there again.

This hotel is wonderful ! The place was very clean, the staff were all friendly and all seemed happy to be doing their job. The evening began with a social provided by the hotel to encourage all guest to meet and socialize. Our room was clean and spacious We enjoyed the pool and there is a trail to go for A walk ! Families were out playing corn hole on the patio by the pool some families were on a walk on the trail !!! The next morning we had such an awesome breakfast ! Our check in/out was met with such kindness and professionalism ! We will stay here again soon !

The property is in a great location and the room was clean. Check in was at 3 but our room wasn’t ready until 430, which was frustrating traveling with two small kids

This might be my first negative review… The entrance is super charming, but thats about it. Our room was pretty uncomfortable, and we even booked a “suite”. We were a little anxious leaving our dog for a couple hours while we went to dinner. We were placed on the “ground” level, which is technically one level below the entrance level. It felt like a dungeon, for a lack of a better word. As soon as we entered the floor, which is kind of separated from the hotel itself - it smelled *horrible*. A mix of food and mildew. The hotel had one of those large fans at the end of the hallway, so we assumed it had to be targeting one of those issues. Once we walked into our room - it immediately smelled musky and moldy. Not to mention just outdated and slightly dirty / not cleaned. There were dead bugs on the floor, dust hanging from the corners of the ceiling, a hanger left in the bathroom from the previous guest, and again…the smell. Beyond making the bed and changing out the towels - did anyone clean this place?! My husband and I debated driving back home, which was an hour and 40 minutes away, simply because we were that uncomfortable with the idea of sleeping in the space. This also isn’t a big deal - but I haven’t seen a shower that outdated since I stayed at a Red Roof Inn over a decade ago. Maybe it’s because we accidentally went to the other Homewood Suites first (and it was so nice), but I would never let a friend or family member stay here.
