Holiday Inn Express Burlington, an IHG Hotel

Visiting family. Nice selection of restaurants in the area. Nice to have breakfast in the mornings provided.

Booked this property as I was with family expecting typical holiday Inn experience paying $160 but Horrible property, place stinks..had to change room within one hour...staff was super good and they knew about it and switched rooms but better than haunted room but had to spend couple of hours before I can change to a different property. Expedia or IHG team should remove this property from listing until it's renovated and inspected and return the charges...

The hotel was fine, not great, but definitely a solid, family hotel. I had requested feather free bedding due to an allergy to feathers, and my reservation had been confirmed as such, but when I arrived, the bedding was feathered and no alternatives existed. When I spoke to the staff in the morning, I showed them my request via hotels.com, but they also showed me that they never received the request. Ultimately, hotels.com completely dropped the ball and failed to transmit the request to the hotel staff. To make matters worse, when I called hotels.com about it, they refused to accept any ownership of the problem and literally told me on the phone that “inconveniences” I experience at hotels I book through them aren’t their problem. So at the end of the day, Holiday Inn did the right thing and provided a discount since I slept without a pillow, but the true culprit was hotels.com. I may stay at a Holiday Inn Express again, but this is the last time I’ll ever do business with hotels.com, and I’d encourage anyone reading this to just book with the hotel directly.

Negatives: Heat/air was of poor quality, slippery shower/fall hazard, unsanitary shampoo/body wash dispenser. The toilet was too uncomfortably low(made for children). TV was difficult to navigate w/ guide button not working. Positives: bed was very comfortable, great outlet access (loved the outlets with lamps beside the bed), great water pressure in shower

WHile this property is a bit dated - and was clearly overpriced for Elon family weekend - the staff here are simply the best. Kind, friendly, helpful - not only do they treat each guest with care - they also have a genuine respect for each other - it was wonderful - and refreshing.

My family and I were in town for the National Junior Olympics. The staff was courteous and very helpful.
