I would not stay here again. The staff was fine, very nice, but the area was super sketchy and felt unsafe, and the hotel itself is very old and run down. Our curtains were broken in places, found a sharp screw on the carpet, the bathroom was very old and run down, dirty around the base of the toilet. Loud people all night long, including screaming baby, slamming doors. Not a good experience.

Nice place to get rest for the night, the staff was very good. I have a problem in the room and they give me another room fast. Comfort and the rooms are big with refrigerator. I stay one night to rest from a family trip from Canada to JFK.

The prices were outrageous especially for what was offered room wise. There was nothing nice I could say about this. We were there for Binghamton graduation and had the rooms been clean and updated (i.e. rusty faucets) I might have understood the exorbitant price. But as it was very unpleasant it was just taking advantage of families need for a place to stay for graduation.

Overall it was ok, but there were some issues. We had booked 4 king rooms for a family visit. a couple of members of our family are elderly and/or frail so we were somewhat shocked to find that all our rooms were on the 2nd floor with no elevator. I think this should be noted in the room description as it caused some problems for our group. We managed to get everyone + luggage up and down the stairs throughout our visit, but we certainly would have chosen other accomodations if we had known about the lack of elevators. The rooms were fine--large and comfortable. However in three of the four rooms we had little or no heat the first night. This was corrected quickly after notifying housekeeping but it was just another issue to deal with. Also, we returned one night to find that one of the doors to our room was not securely closed/locked. As it turns out some of the doors are not self-closing--they need considerable force to close and secure them. We don't believe that anyone actually entered the room and that the door just failed to close securely when our family member left but nevertheless we felt it was a security issue. Finally, the beds are unusually high (maybe 40" ?) . Again, it's probably not a problem for taller or younger people but a couple of people in our group found it quite challenging to get in the bed. The location was convenient and parking was no problem at all. The staff members we dealt with were all pleasant so this was overall an ok stay.

The hotel is so close to Binghamton University. It really needs an update. For $200 a night you would expect a nicer hotel. Bathrooms are clean but every time your neighbor takes a shower you hear the water. I had a pull out sofa for my son and the mattress was so stained he made me close it back up and slept on the loveseat all cramped up. I will say the food at the restaurant is really good. They did forget to give me a spoon for my soup but it was tasty. The manager checked me in and he was a really pleasant man. He said he had a staff meeting and told everyone to have extra patience. It’s a hard time for the parents and the kids when dropping them off for college. I thought that showed empathy and much appreciated. I was nervous about the area and my car was packed so I was pleasantly surprised when it wasn’t broken into.

The staff are great; especially one gentleman named Peter. He is always cheerful, and he recognized me from past stays. I saw him interacting with all guests with so much enthusiasm; he is an asset to the hotel. We also had some issues with a broken toilet, and this was resolved promptly. I always stay at this hotel when I come to Binghamton and I recommend it - the pool is nice for kids in summer!

This was our second time staying at this property and this experience was much less pleasant than the last. We checked in at 6pm and were told it would be another 30 minutes until our room was ready. Then, at 1130pm, our room was reassigned to another person, and were it not for the safety latch, they would have entirely come into our room in the middle of the night - very disturbing. Instead they banged the door the one inch it would open a few times, waking up the whole family until we confirmed that someone was already in the room. The next day, we told the front desk and the woman was appropriately horrified by the story and apologized. Still, this was clearly a systems problem (paper system said we were in one room and computer said another), and I saw no way that this was reported up to fixture root of the problem. They seemed very overwhelmed by having what appeared to be a full hotel (due to students arriving for BU orientation and move in).
