Hilton Garden Inn Troy

I used expedia to reserve the room.. got to the hotel and they did not have my reservation (I showed them the one I had made). They reserved a different room for me and charged me $25 more for the room.. except for getting the room, the room was nice, the pool and pool area for the kids was cold, but the staff were all amazingly nice.

Room was comfortable. Pool was great with kids.

I would have given it a 5 star rating, however, there were kids running up and down the hallway all night and screaming. Made it a little difficult to sleep. The hotel itself was nice.

We arrived a bit later than we had planned due to an unexpected ER visit on the way for one of the kids. We decided to use digital check in since it was 10pm-ish? We got to our room ready to get the kids washed up l, changed and in bed. There were no liners in any of the trash cans in the room, the remote to the tv was missing and for the first few minutes the drains in the sink made the whole room smell like a moldy wash rag. That went away after letting the water run and the air cleared. I went down around 11pmish and let the front desk know. She was super nice but didn’t have a remote to give us for the tv ( my kids like the tv on while they sleep in a new place ) and she couldn’t find any trash bags to give us so that we could throw away the soiled baby wipes. She gave us the single bag she had from her can behind the desk and let us know someone would be up in the morning with bags and a remote. Nobody came and stopped into the room at all with trash bags or a remote for the 3 nights we were there. So we had to improvise with the trash and baby wipes and let the kids use our phones since we couldn’t use the tv. Our room just had an overall unpolished look to it. Myself; once worked in janitorial , I got the impression that the room was just given a fast once over of the obvious areas by the cleaner assigned and he/she forgot to come back with trash bags and a remote for the next guest. This was unusual as we’ve stayed here before and never expected it.
