Crowne Plaza Albany - The Desmond Hotel, an IHG Hotel

Restaurant service is slow food is average for the cost. We had "reserved" a king bed room but was given a queen bed room with no accommodation for the switch which left us having to use the pullout sofa bed thats beyond awful. Next time we take the kids out for a pool night ill use a different hotel. Since IGH bought this hotel the "updated" renovations wreck the classic charm of this longtime area hotel.

The indoor courtyard is a so cool and a wonderful place for our group of multiple families to meet up and socialize.

I really liked Renee she was very helpful and made our stay very comfortable and the rest of the staff was excellent will definitely recommend to family and friends and colleagues

Nice play to stay with the family or solo.

The food, bar, dinner, breakfast was not good. The former leisure bar areas were no longer there. I meet with business people and the bar used to be great, alas the changes in bar and restaurant are now more suitable for the athletes and young players and families. Very busy and loud.

We booked a hotel for a night which coincided with a wedding and some sporting events. The pool was overcrowded with screaming girls and parents eating by the poolside not even attending to their kids. We didn't see the sign that warned us about a wedding parade that was being videotaped from 6pm - 6:30pm, and when we tried to exit, we were told to exit the exterior of the pool and walk around the hotel or wait until 6:30 pm. Some of the bath towels in the room looked laundered but had brown stains on them. We requested some fresh towels, and they were brought up promptly. The koi fish pond was a nice touch, but unlike other guests' experience, our kids were not allowed to feed the fish. In fact, there was a sign that said, "Do not feed fish." The staff wasn't rude, but they weren't exactly warm and friendly either. Overall, the hotel was OK for the price. Nothing to write home about.
