Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Chester, an IHG Hotel

This was a great option to choose with family. Staff were very friendly and rooms were very clean.

Holiday Inn was fantastic when Expedia completely botched our reservation. Expedia’s system did not send our reservation over. When I called they did call to sort it out. When it still didn’t work they refunded us, but we will need to wait 7-10 days to see that and had to spend more money to book a last minute reservation. It was an hour of high stress, exhausted children, and Expedia refusing to give any credits because they were refunding us based on their error. Expedia just lost a loyal customer.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and spacious. Swimming pool was too murky for my kids to even use.

The staff was amazing! Soon as we arrived the front desk person was very nice, There was no waiting to check in. We were checked in and got our room key. Not so happy about the room and for the price for 2 nights I expected better. We were given a room in the second floor facing the front of the hotel. There was a road nearby so we could hear when cars were passing by.you could also hear the engine of the bikes that belong to some people staying at the hotel.The room when we arrived was a bit cold and when I went to change the Temp the thermostat was not working. Hated that we did not have control of the room temp. The room had a bit of a musty smell to it and there was a bit of light dust.By the second day of our stay my family who all have allergy issues woke up with stuffy noses and throats hurting. Loved that there were dining options and shopping options nearby so we were able to grab some meds from the Walgreens nearby for the rest of our stay. The room was clean but, in the bathroom you could see a bit of mold in certain areas. Not much but enough that I could notice it. They also didn’t provide toothpaste or mouth wash like most hotels do. But no big deal we had our own. Thank god!Really liked the free breakfast. The staff no matter where you went was always nice and asked if everything was okay. Also loved that housekeeping was done while we were out at LEGOLAND which was a 10min drive from the hotel. Other than that our stay was okay.

The check in was super easy manager was very friendly. Walkable to cvs and Walgreens and some fast food options. Pool was open but we didn’t have time to get in. Rooms clean and spacious. I will mention that the room I had is a stand up shower only so those with younger kids may want to be aware of that. I brought my toddlers tub and I’m glad I did!

Overall hotel was great. Check in was quick and easy and man at front of desk was very nice. The only disappointment was the pool was closed which is one of the main reasons we chose that hotel since we were traveling with kids. I probably would have chosen a different hotel had I known it wouldn’t be open. Large stain on the carpet in the room was gross, but otherwise room was clean. Would stay again. 10 min drive to Legoland and 2 min drive to Castle Fun center.

Personally, this was my first time going to this hotel. My family, on the other hand, has been to this establishment on multiple occasions. It was renovated and has a new modern look to it. The room was clean and tidy. They did cement over the hot tub, which was something that my family sold me on and needless to say I was looking forward to. It made me sad that there was no hot tub, and the only thing available was the pool, which was in a temperature control room, but the pool was cold. It would have been great if it had been heated. Now they offer breakfast in the morning with your stay. I enjoyed the printed pancake machine and the sausage, but the eggs were horrible. They are and taste like powdered eggs and had that water down taste to it even with you adding salt to it for taste, and it didn't help much at all. The cinnamon roll was pretty good with some coffee. They also had cereal, yogurt, and fruits. So overall, the stay was pretty good. The breakfast is not all that great, but at least it's a full breakfast and not a continental breakfast, so there is that. The room, like I said, was clean and tidy.
