RiverWalk Resort at Loon Mountain

The resort is beautiful, however it’s still not finished. There’s empty rooms all along the downstairs that look to be under construction. While we were outside the large pool was under construction and cement dust was blowing into your face while you were at the outdoor heated pool. I wish the rooms offered larger toiletries, there was also no extra pillows or blankets in the closet. If you request a crib you’re given a pack n play which is fine but very uncomfortable for a small child. They have no sheet or padding for it. The outdoor space was lack luster, for the looks and money for this place wish there was more.

So, a couple notes. First, there was crud on our door on the outside that looked like bloody snot. Second, we got back to our a room after swimming after 10 and realized the fireplace and tv remotes were not working (or the devices were not working) and didn't want to deal with calling the desk at that hour. Third, there were definitely teenaged looking people doing very dirty deeds in the inside hot tub, and although there are cameras, no one came to stop them. Fourth, less obnoxious but there was a family outside DOMINATING the pool area with extremely loud music etc etc. They were fun, kind, generous and sweet - but it was loud. I do enjoy this place - but our first visit in the fall was a bit more clean and peaceful than this stay.

We were excited to stay at Riverwalk, since it looked like a high-end resort (as advertised). But there were many issues that we encountered. First, the restaurant was not open which was a surprise, and this was not what the check in person told up. We were looking forward to dining in their restaurant. Then the restaurant was not open for breakfast the following day - which was disappointing. (the days & times for the restaurant was buried in the restaurant page - but the info was not clear). The room and bed were comfortable, and the room was clean but one of our party could not even get into bed because there was only 8 inches between the bed and wall. so, they had to crawl up and into the bed. Our room was on the 3rd floor, and it was noisy, and we often heard kids and guests out in the hallway. So overall - a very pretty property, and in a nice location, but it was not up to other "resorts" we have routinely stayed at.

The people involved in the service desk, check in, even the guy sent to tell me I could go in the pool with my kiddo even though the "gate" was down - were all very friendly. My kid had a blast. There were some little issues, like apparently the outdoor area near the pool and hot tub are usually heated, that was broken, the "bubbles" in the hot tubs were temperamental, the heat in the indoor hottub area wasn't working. And one singular person was a little "snooty" mentioning we should have had a reservation at the restaurant - which we arrived promptly at 5, offered to get take out instead, and the place was nearly empty for the full 30 minutes we were in there. Also, no breakfast.

Everything was perfect except for the weather, it rained straight for 2 days during our stay, regardless, the kids enjoyed the outdoor heated pool and had a blast. We’ll definitely be back

We love the Riverwalk! The suites are amazing! You can walk to everything and the hot tubs and pools are perfect for winter or summer! Great family friendly resort!
