Hampton Inn & Suites Detroit/Troy

We flew in from out of town for Thanksgiving. I booked two rooms for my family and asked that we be next to each other. They did the best they could, which wasn’t a big deal. What was a big deal was being stuck right in the middle of a block of rooms for a travel hockey team. There was zero respect for anyone around them and they were loud well into the middle of the night. The first night I called the front desk to see if there were quiet hours and the night replied with “he wasn’t aware of any”. I was dreading the next night because we were having to get up at 3 am to get to the airport and I was already figuring I wouldn’t get any sleep. When I saw it was the same night guy I knew I wouldn’t. This time the hockey parents were loud and partied until about 2am and the front desk did nothing about it. Otherwise the location was fantastic. If we came back I’d probably try the Hilton across the parking lot and see if they aren’t a party hotel.

Service was good…but the people above us made so much noise with kids running throughout the night….called the front desk twice it would stop for a minute but then would start back up couldn’t sleep.

The hotel and room itself was nice and clean and the staff was friendly enough. It is in a good location near food options and was a very short drive to the shopping center. What I didn’t like was that my room was between a family or good friends. My daughter and I awoke during the night to doors slamming and people arguing with each other. Other people in the group were laughing and carrying on. This went on for quite awhile. So unfortunately we didn’t sleep well at all.

I've stayed here several times when visiting family. Easy check in/check out. They have coffee available 24/7 in the dining room. Decent hot buffet breakfast. Nice gym with 3 treadmills. Pool and jacuzzi. Place is located a half black from the freeway. Three blocks away from Somerset Mall, great restaurants across the parking lot, such as 'Bonefish', 'Carrabbas', Jersey Mikes. Great location.

We had a great 2 night stay. Breakfast was suitable (typically hotel breakfast but served its purpose), room was clean, beds comfortable. Only complaint was the pillows were really soft, not a deal breaker. Our only complaint would be that we could hear the loud kids at the pool in our room. And they same loud kids/guests were on our floor and super loud all night. Yelling and banging on the door at 2 am. Obviously out of the hotels control, they did come up at 11:30 and asked them to quiet down. We will stay at this hotel again. Great location!!

Everything was so excellent. No complains and very happy with our stay there and would sure come again and also recommend to friends and family. Thank you so much.

I had a rough experience because of 3 rambunctious young male children that were in the room directly above me. Got no sleep. What made my stay excellent was the attention to the issue given by the staff. They actually cared! I couldn’t believe it. I will make every effort to start at this exact establishment when I am home and not staying with family. A

I booked a room with double queen beds as we are a family of 4 and I got a call on the room phone at 1 in the morning asking me to switch the room because the messed up the booking and they don’t have more rooms so they were giving me a king bed with sofa bed till the next day when they will switch me to my original room which NEVER happened and Denise the manager in charge who was on the phone with the front desk did not even bother to do anything the next day when I checked with other front guy he said I can’t do anything for you though he knew the whole situation so basically I over paid for the staying over there

Horrible Wifi internet. Included wifi only allows Email and texting and is exteremely slow. Keeps disconnecting every 5 mins and you have to sign in again each time . For wfh or kids to watch youtube etc, you have to purchase wifi separately. It was a crazy staying with kids with no internet. Breakfast menu is mediocre. Horrible tasteless juices. Not sweet and watery. Scrambled eggs have meat pieces in them. No options for vegeterians. Items not labeled No room service for entire stay. They will not clear garbage or setup beds. They use "covid" excuse still. Bedroom window cannot be covered with curtains in the centre. Too bright for kids to go to sleep in daytime. Floor carpets are not cushioned. Too noisy if anyone on upper floor even walks.

The insulation is very poor in the room. The room above us sounded like an MMA tournament at 7:30 in the morning. Also, I'd recommend that the hotel keep rooms that contain children away from rooms that do not have children.
