Holiday Inn Express & Suites Petoskey, an IHG Hotel

Hotel staff was great! Would recommend to family and friends. Never heard our neighbors. They have a transportation option for evening, we did not use. But is a nice option to have with all the local breweries/shops/casino. Con: hot tub was not clean. However, the sauna was very nice!

We have stayed at this hotel in the past and the quality of the facility has really gone down. The bathroom door in our room appeared to have been warped, or maybe it was the floor, but the door was very difficult to close. The pool and the hot tub area were very dirty and look like they have not been cleaned in a very long time. The fans in the pool area were full of dirt and dust and the handicap lift to assist people into the pool was rusted and had loose wiring. I would be hesitant to use the lift for one of my family members. The front desk associates were very nice and our check in was prompt and professional. We really like the location of this hotel and probably would give it a try again next year for our annual ski trip. Hopefully they will have cleaned things up a bit.

This was probably the worst hotel stay I have ever had. First off, their parking lot is atrocious. My traveling companion had an awful time maneuvering the U-Haul we had with us around the building so he could park. When we did get in our room, our bathroom was disgusting. There was hair in the shower and a foreign substance on the shower curtain that I initially thought was blood but, sweet Jesus, I hope not. I had been moving all day and was meeting my kids for dinner so I just showered anyway (trust me, I was disgusted but I didn't have time to fuss with changing our room.) When I got out of the shower, I realized that the laundry basket in our room had been used as a trash by the previous stayers and there was a makeup wipe and an acne pad. Also, the buffet coffee tasted like absolute sludge and we got there right at 6:30 so it was fresh supposedly. I wouldn't recommend anyone staying here. And when I made the front desk aware that I had pictures of the condition of our room, they said they were sorry and didn't offer any other compensation at all. Overall, very disappointed in this hotel. I won't ever be staying here again.

Christina & Ronnie were outstanding as was the breakfast lady. The hotel was clean & great but the staff set it apart. They gave us a free upgrade to a mini suite & treated us like family. We will be back!

The rooms were clean, loved the bathroom products, everything was fine except our last night. The people in the room next to us or somewhere nearby was having a huge party with music blaring and people talking loudly in the room and on the balcony. My husband and I were both woken up from it around 2am!!!! Luckily my small children managed to sleep through it.
