The kids liked the pool a lot, the adults enjoyed the friendly environment of the CJ restaurant as well as the hotel itself. Being located downtown in a Plymouth is a big pro.

The pool was decent, but the waterslide took some skin off, and my son also got hurt on the water slide. The room was decent, the pillows and beds were horrible to sleep on, they had no comfort and very lumpy and flat. My husband and i only got probably about five hours of sleep. Very disappointed and would not recommend thus hotel to any of my friends or family.

Lovely room, seemed recently renovated, very clean. The communal areas needed some attention, particularly the changing rooms at the pool which were very old and dirty. Pool was cold when we were ther en but the slide was fun for the kids. The arcade was a big hit for the kids too. The restaurant attached was lovely with friendly staff. Over all for the money definitely worth it.

Honestly the room was good and the location was great with a quick walk to everything the major downside was the pool it was filthy as was the changing rooms. I dragged my kids out of the pool quickly when I noticed how filthy it was. The girl in there watching over it was only bothered about people in the pool at the bottom of the slide or kids going in the hot tub she literally let everything else slide. A girl was eating ice cream in the pool and left the half eaten tub on the edge of the pool, there were dirty bandaids floating in the pool, kids running round jumping in the pool, a young boy vaping and clearly playing with his girlfriends genitalia under the water was very obvious. I pulled my kids out utterly disgusting. The changing rooms were a disgrace.

While it's convenient to Plymouth Rock, it was dirty. Older building with some upgrades. Great place for kids, my son enjoyed the pool and waterslide. Neighborhood was a little sketchy. They locked the front doors by 8PM.

A we had to switch rooms twice and I had 4 kids with me and a lot of bags/presents. Then we finally got settled in the room. The first room, the electrical was all messed up and the lights weren’t working. Then we get to the final room and the refrigerator wasn’t working. The pools heater wasn’t working so the water was freezing! Every child was cold and crying and unhappy because of the temp. After awhile they got use to it but I didn’t and my daughter (birthday girl) was very upset… the lifeguard was wearing an entire suit with dress shoes and a tie.. idk why but I thought it was really weird because they were the “lifeguard”. The hotel had BUGS everywhere! Over all I’m pretty upset because it was A LOT of money and I’m a single mom of 3 with absolutely zero financial support so I am still dealing with money problems. I wanted some money back or some incentive but I didn’t want my daughter to see I was upset because it was her birthday celebration.

It appears that the John Carver Inn hasn't been renovated or upgraded in quite a while. There is not a single amenity at the hotel. The gym didn't have towels, water, or a working TV. There was no business center (or if there was, it wasn't apparent). There's no breakfast. The walls are paper thin. The room had a musty smell. When we asked to have it cleaned, the cleaning crew did not show up the next day. Even the TV remote didn't work consistently. The pool area looks fun for kids, but that's about the only positive. It's too bad because the hotel is located in a great location in Plymouth. They really need to spend some money to add something to the hotel that makes it worthwhile to stay there. At least the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fine, but other than that, there's not much good to say about this hotel.
