Onyx Inn and Suites

My family was in the area for an all-stars tournament. Half of our party got their rooms cancelled. The other half were very dissatisfied. We even checked out early. My door knob completely came off the door in my hand when shutting the door. The air conditioner was falling apart and there was a black bug in our bed. Also, the pillows were terrible and no batteries in the TV remote. The pool looked dirty and the wall was broken in multiple areas. Not a good stay at all.

I stayed two weekends in a row to visit family and house hunt. I stayed back in March and it was great. Then last weekend in June the fridge didn't work and had food left in it, couldn't open closet door, and no toilet paper holder or toilet paper. Then the next weekend--fridge had food left in it and the Direct TV satellite was not working. No TV for three nights!

There was no internet access on 2nd floor and we were there kids for 3 days and no tv to watch And the lady on Sunday took almost all breakfast away at 9:45 can you at least start cleaning up at 10

It was very humid in the building, when we got to the room it was cool but had a musty odor. It appeared clean enough but the first morning i woke up at 5am for work and killed about 7 baby roaches..2 on the hall wall and the others in the bathroom. Later that day we checked out but was not offered money back and we had prepaid 3 nights only stayed 1.

I tried to call the hotel before we arrived but only got a busy signal. When we arrived the receptionist told me that their phones line wasn’t working. When I checked in I arrived with a family of 7 only to be told that 1 of my 2 rooms that I booked could not be occupied because their dryer was broken and they had no way to clean the sheets before we came. So all 7 of us shared one room. This sent a shiver down my spine. We boarded the dirty scary looking elevator to go to the third floor and was greeted by a piece of wall border lying on the floor. When we entered the room I immediately checked the sheets and comforter and of course there were stains. We were disgusted but could not leave because all of the hotels were booked up. Don’t stay here! This is NOT a Comfort Inn but a Discomfort Inn.

Phone in room doesn’t work and front desk phone was constantly busy. People running up and down hallways kids talking loud outside.

The bed springs poked you and creaked badly. The room was in general disrepair, rusted tub, paint missing, broken trim, etc. I saw baby cockroaches in the bathroom. The bed had crumbs in it so obviously not washed between guests. I was concerned about bedbugs bet gratefully that didn't happen. It was tricky to get to off the highway. Will not stay here again.

Cons Room 135: Room TVs in the entire hotel were not working, the bathroom was not clean, the carpet needed vacuuming, there was a screw sticking out in the shower, the bed tilted to one side when you sat at the foot. Pros: The water was hot and the room was a good size for my family of 3, the breakfast was fine, the staff was pleasant.

The room was unclean with leftover food, food remnants, and trash easily seen in the room. There was gum stuck to the floor going into the room. The elevator seemed like it wasn't working but then it did but made clanking noises and was rough closing. The elevator also smelled like some really good weed. The breakfast sausage looked like it wasn't cooked and the breakfast line was dirty. All of that could've possibly been overlooked but then this morning when I got up to fix our baby a bottle there were 3 German roaches crawling on the wall 😳😳

There was food crumbs and plastic utensils still in the refrigerator, buttons missing on the elevator, make-up on the pillow cases, and the heater a/c didn't work. The front desk girl didn't even stand up to check us in. Though she said that she would call maintenance and swap out the fridge, when we returned after our meeting, it had not been done. When we reported to the front desk that the A/C wasn't working, she moved us to another room and it too had plastic utensils in the fridge. The front lobby was hot and the A/C was out in there too. We stayed in the second room just for that night because we would not have gotten a refund, but we will not stay there again. It's a shame as we have 2 grandchildren in LA Tech. We go to Ruston often...Not again.
