Homewood Suites Houma, La

Checked in around 2:30…booked a 2 queen suite and was given a king room for 4 people. Changed rooms and had the front desk announce my room number to the lobby TWICE. We left for baseball games and came back at 9pm to my shower mat soaked and pubic hair in my shower. Maintenence told me you’ll be fine no one was in here. front desk worker told me it’s just maintenance slacking. The whole first floor is under construction so everything is a mess. We were so uneasy all night. My 2 small children asked to leave at 9pm and just drive the 3 hours home. The manager was supposed to call me back but…that didn’t happen either.

We chose the priciest hotel in the area, we probably would’ve been better off at a Motel 6. Upon entering the room, there was blood, yes blood, on the curtains, the floor next to the window, and spots on the floor throughout the room. The work out facility was in the next room over, no big deal, except for the fact that every time someone dropped a dumbbell it sounded like the floors above us were dropping bowling balls on the ground. Mind you, it was 10PM and we had our 10 month old baby with us. I’ll take my chance with a motel 6 next time.

Great hotel. We love to stay here every time we come to visit Houma. The hotel has aged and may need a bit of upkeep - the fabric on the chairs and sofas in the room itself and in the breakfast area are heavily stained. We love the social hours, the breakfast options, the amenities. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The kids loved the little stocking treats on Christmas Day - definitely a nice gesture from the hotel. The hotel is generally quiet.

This is our second time staying with this hotel. Our family travels A LOT, 3-4 weeks at a time so we’re really well versed in hotels. 😊 we were happy with our stay many months ago, but this time our stay was even better. Thanks for great accommodations!
