My Place Hotel - Overland Park

we just stayed to sleep over and it was very nice for the night. Beds were comfy, liked having a kitchen to make breakfast (grocery store right across the street!) and our kids rested well for the next full day on the road!

This was my wife’s and I third stay at My Place in Overland Park Kansas and we were both disappointed and will be looking for a new place to stay when we come to visit family again. Not to be over critical but big stains in the carpets we were on the third floor and someone was smoking in their room even though they tried to find out who was the problem they couldn’t find what room it was coming from walls could use some paint lobby had a peculiar smell like a bad cafeteria other then that we will be staying someplace else on our next visit.

Thanks to the check in host, it was a seamless and easy check in at about 3pm on Wednesday the 12th. He was friendly and welcoming. However the lady working at the desk in the evening was very rude, and not welcoming at all and this is why the bad ratings for that. The room was cleanish, we found a used hair tie in the shower, one of the bed had crumbs between the mattress, and the coffee pot was used and dirty. After that, the day time attendant was friendly and supportive when we checked out. Lastly, in the evening, the tv came on but no signal. The lady running the desk was no help at all. She did ask though if I wanted a technician who could as she explained not offer any more help than she as to pushing the input button that was doing nothing, and my kids were getting out of the shower as I explained, and she then proceeded to ask me again and I again said no. As I’m familiar with how to hook up tvs and satellite, I simply looked behind it to ensure all things were connected, and all it was, was the direct tv box was unplugged from the wall. Would have been five star had the evening clerk not refused to let us in, it took another guest to open the door for us as she made us stand outside with my two kids and holding heavy luggage, and then was rude vs greeting us as we just wanted to go to our room and rest after a long day of driving and visiting family. The time was 11:04pm.

Place was clean and cheap but the walls are so thin. We could hear when everyone got to their rooms all night. Around 11:00 pm the people on the floor above us got to their room and someone ran our stomped around from one end of the room to the other and up and down the hallway until 1:30 am. Said something to the front desk about it around midnight but it kept going. They picked it back up around 7:00 am. Not the hotel’s fault, but we heard every little bit of it. Could hear the conversation of the people in the room next to us also. Seems to be geared more towards people working jobs out of town for extended periods. Was a clean, low priced room but will avoid when traveling with the family in the future.

The front desk was awesome at check in. I always stay here anymore when I come to visit family. Great place and very comfortable.

A really good motel considering the price, and its relatively new condition. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Apparently these motels are all over the USA and I will consider them when I travel. I will definitely go back to this one in Overland Park when I visit family there.

This was my second stay at this location. I was happy with the over all feel of the hotel and love the fact that there is a refrigerator in the room with an ice maker. There are so many places close and you have things for children close too.

Visiting family and first trip with our 5 month old puppy. We had easy access to the outdoor dog spot, room was clean and comfortable. Clerk at check-in was very pleasant and efficient. Very good experience and would highly recommend.

Great location and felt really safe with my family here.

This was my second stay at the Overland Park My Place hotel. I was traveling on a business-related trip, but with my wife and two grandkids--so we had a room with a two queen-sized beds. Amenities at this hotel are limited--coffee, but no breakfast, no pool ... but we were only there as a place to sleep overnight, so it worked out fine. And the room had a kitchenette had we wanted to use it. Bottom line, the check-in was friendly and convenient. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The location was convenient to the highway and area businesses. And the price was competitive--by that I mean a good bit under the going rate for other places I'd consider. If you're looking for amenities or luxury, this probably isn't the place. But if you're looking for a clean, comfortable place to get a good night's rest--this is it.
