My Place Hotel - Altoona/Des Moines, IA

My child and I did not sleep. Regardless of having the fan continuous, or using a sound machine, the person/people above us stomped, ran, and JUMPED from before midnight and are still going at 4:45 am. No matter how many times I called the front desk, the noise continues. I'm pretty sure we would have had a quieter night in the car.

Visiting family and stayed for two nights nice ad comfortable as always

Something I really, really liked was the kitchen being available. I see this as a big plus for a person who is traveling with family and trying to save some hard earned cash. The hotel is in good condition and in a good location. The only issue I had that night was my room neighbor who had a dog that didn't stop barking. They also serve no breakfast but not a huge inconvenience for me.

We always stay here when we travel to see family. Quiet, clean and friendly staff. A great place to stay

Great for families, or extended stay. You can cook in your room instead of always going to pricey restaurants!!

We were "greeted" at the front desk by a girl with ear phones in that walked directly to the bell on the desk and began ringing it to show us what we should have done and then began to tell us what to do going forward is to ring the bell because she can't be bothered to look up at the security screen every two seconds. Then after not being given any info out any kind from our childish greeting we went to our room. We brought drinks to put into our fridge only to find a half eaten salad in there. So within 20 minutes security and cleanliness of this hotel was out the window. We were never offered our two free drinks. The only thing good about this hotel is its right next to the movie theater and tons of restaurants. Its also in walking distance of adventureland. We won't be returning to this hotel but the hotels surrounding it maybe.

Very comfortable bed room has full amenities fridge, stove and microwave. Right next to Adventureland and easy driving to Des Moines children’s hospital.

Arrived with my 4yr old daughter and put our stuff in the room left to eat dinner and came back about 7pm and the key wouldnt work. Ended up getting in to get my stuff and downgraded room by hotel from 2 queen to 1 queen bed around 11pm and didnt refund me the diff in price due to booking through hotels.com. All this took hours hours to accomplish while me and my toddler wer in a hall way with our hands full. Woke up the next morning to a screw in my tire from the nereby construction i assume and had to dish out money for tires!! Long story short, hotel room was nice but the parking lot and customerservice was garbage.
