Knights Inn & Suites Salem, IN

Got to motel and was told they had canceled my room due they do not let you make reservations more than 6 months in advance. Then was told they only had a room for one night. Went out and spoke with family. Agreed on the 1 night available. They was told by motel they NOW have a room for needed 3 nights. Which 100.00 for than Expedia price plus was going to charge us 5.00 extra per person since there was 4 of us. In a room with 2 beds

My reservation for May 6-8 had been made and confirmed for almost a month. I drove 4 hours through pouring rain only to get there and have the manager/owner argue with me and insist that my dates are reserved for the 7th-9th. I even showed him my Expedia confirmation email with the Itinerary number on it. He STILL argued and said I was out of luck and that my room wasn't available until the next night. BTW, the hotel had already charged me for both nights that morning on my CC, and by both nights I mean the 6th and the 7th which is against policy. I ended up staying with the relatives I was planning to visit for the weekend which they weren't prepared for. It was Kentucky Derby weekend so I suspect that the manager/owner was offered way more money in CASH than the $70 each night he was going to make off of me. Derby weekend is also the reason why no other hotels had available rooms. I will NEVER book at this hotel again. EVER. And I suggest others follow my lead. If this is how they would do business with a woman travelling alone, how would he do with someone who happen to have children with her? Shameful!!
