Wingate by Wyndham - Joliet

Our family book seven rooms for a family event. The check-in process was fine, the two gentleman that helped us were nice and friendly. The rooms were clean, however, some did smell. Ours smelled like a wet rag or a wet dog, we think it was the air freshener they placed in the air conditioner. One of the rooms smelled like cigarettes and they were able to move one of our guests to another room. Breakfast was typical and decent. Waffles, pancakes, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, fruit. Etc. Can't speak about the pool, we didn't go swimming. Checking out was different. Beth, who was working at the front desk this morning was not pleasant. She was not friendly, and her tone of voice was very sharp. We asked for receipts for each room. She seemed annoyed and said she wasn't supposed to print it unless it was for the person who stayed in that room. I told her that we paid for all 7 rooms, so we would like to see the total. As we gave the names for the primary guest listed in each room, she argued about how one of the guests came early in the morning to hand the key. The person who stayed in that room told her they didn't leave the key like she mentioned, but she continued to argue with my mom. We ended up just leaving because it was escalating. She has bad customer service and should not be in the front desk.

Nothing special front desk lied about alot of kids making noise.

We checked in very late and went right to bed after traveling. The accommodations were nice. In the morning after getting a slow start I went down to get coffee and some breakfast. I was totally unaware of the time and when breakfast ended. I understand this was my fault. However, Tina from the kitchen was just starting to clean up. She was very pleasant and told me breakfast was done. She still allowed me to quick grab stuff for myself and family as they were showering and still getting ready. She was so nice and even went above and beyond and help me carry it to our room on the 3rd floor!

Called days before to ask for an early 2:00pm checkin time so we could change to get to a family visitation that started at 3:00pm. The room wasn’t ready and we were late to the family function.

Great basics, very clean. Disappointed that the pool was out of service which was the reason we chose this hotel, but staff was wonderful and we had clean accommodations. Breakfast is blah. 2 cereal choices, pancake batter was banana nut only. No one in our family was satisfied with breakfast day one so day 2 we ended up eating out. The pillows are awful, definitely bring your own, and beds are hard. But we all agreed we appreciated a clean and safe place to stay. And they are super convenient to the highway!

We came to the Joliet area for a funeral and had booked the Wingate through Expedia. We had to bring in a change of clothes and lots of items from the funeral. Staff asked us if we needed any help moving items to and from our room. Very friendly. After we had booked one room, other family members decided to join us. So at the last minute we booked another room. No hassle at all. The staff was helpful and helped make the whole stay no pressure at a difficult time for us personally. Our grandkids had a wonderful time in the swimming pool, which looked clean and sanitary.

We are grandparents & had our two grandchildren with us traveling on our way back from Black Lake in Michigan. Unlike our stay in Econolodge in Kalamazoo this hotel was fabulous! Our room was very clean . The outside was very clean & inviting. We arrived before 3 pm but was allowed to have our room early. We were greeted at the front desk by the owner, who was very pleasant.The kids wanted to swim so we asked for a room near the pool & was granted our request. The only issue I seen was that the edge of the pool could have used a cleaning. But all in all our stay was great. Our stay at the Econolodge going up was 130.00 which was ridiculous for the room we received. Compared to the 150.00 room at Wingate for the money this was a great very clean place to stay. Room 115 !

We booked to visit family. The room smelled musty like there was mold in the ac unit. The floors were dirty and overall the whole hotel smelled of smoke. The breakfast was very sparse and had no gluten free options. Staff was unfamiliar with the ingredients of hot food items. The staff overall seemed way over worked and tired. The side doors were out of order and quiet hours were not enforced.

My husband and I were traveling for a family funeral. We arrived very late to check in. There was a young lady at the desk, and she was very friendly. She checked us in quickly. After a long drive, this was very appreciated. The room was clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay here again and refer friends a family that are traveling to this area in the future.
